We started out with a small backyard flock of 4 silkies. We unfortunetly ended up with 3 cockerels and only 1 pullet.. we plan to keep 1 cockerel and have already found a good home for the other two and they will be leaving us this weekend. There (surprisingly) isn't any fighting going on but we are just concerned our only pullet will be over mated once they get to that stage.
Problem being that we are having trouble finding any other replacements this time of year.. we will certainly keep looking.. but if we end up with only 1 cockerel and 1 pullet for the winter, will they be okay? Or should we re-home them as well and start again in the spring?
