Smell from sand in my run!

I too use PDZ. My brooder box is in my basement and I had to find a way to keep the smell from overtaking my house and the PDZ is perfect. You'd never know I had chicks downstairs. If they accidentally ate any, there were no ill effects. I have used it in my sand coverd run since day 1 and have No smell.

Could also use garden lime (plain old crushed limestone) to amend sand. Without a covered run or daily rake out, reworking run drainage is probably the cure.

I have drainage pipes (1" PVC) burried along the outter walls of my outside runs with "t"s running outside to get water out of run.
at the outside ends I have them stuffed with plastic scrubbers that you clean frying pans and pots with (pot scrubbers) to keep
snakes and critters from entering the system.............................k4eqh.....................zip
