Won't need to travel, will see it (99%) right here in my yard.
Already got my glasses, supplied by the local library.
Aart, what do you think about the chooks regarding the eclipse? I'm driving to upstate NY, so i wont be home with the chickens when eclipse happens and now having second thoughts about leaving them.

I guess I ordered eclipse glasses for nothing😤

I am staying home. Will get 85% though some sources say 89%. That is plenty to be pretty cool.
I have invited friends to view with me and tomorrow I will bake something eclipse themed for us to nibble while we oooh and ahhh.
I am all ready with glasses and a filter for my camera.
Sky best stay clear!

This is hilariously incorrect. There is no abrupt change in light. Eclipses last an hour or more. Even at totality, it's dusk. Not pitch blackness. Most animals don't care at all. They're not looking up at the sky wondering why the lights went out. Do they freak out at sunrise or sunset? Those behaviors are what you can expect to see.

Will The Plants In Your Garden Be Affected By The 2024 Solar Eclipse?

By Rhiannon Faith Ireland/March 20, 2024 1:00 pm EST

The 2024 solar eclipse, set for April 8, 2024, will pass over the United States, Mexico, and Canada. As it's occurring, residents of these areas will notice the sky darkening as the moon passes over the sun and potentially even have an opportunity to see parts of the outer atmosphere that are usually obscured by the sun. However, while you may know what will happen in terms of the actual event, you may not be aware that the solar eclipse could have an effect on your plants.
