Sour crop doesn't go away.

All of the meds in post 22 are easily bought without a prescription, and you only may need one of them. Nystatin, found in the brand name Medistatin, is usually one antifungal that most people start with. I just listed the other two since those were mentioned by Kathy as other alternatives.

I meant give the Safeguard orally, not in the water. I would give her 0.23 ml per pound orally for five consecutive days. How much does she weigh?

Don't know. Don't have a scale lying around. Dont think I could get her to stand on one either for more than half a second.... probably 5 or 6 pounds.

When they weigh 5 pounds, you can weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding the chicken, and get a weight by subtracting your weight. That is not a very accurate way to get a weight in very small chicks or bantams.

I finally invested $17 in a digital scales from WalMart which works on chickens, and also helps me measure out quarter pound burgers before freezing.

I dunno if the monistat worked or what. I also gave her yogurt for the past 2 weeks. I mixed a very small amount of flockraiser crumbles in it each time. She was getting better but then we had freezing temps and the yogurt would just freeze so I had to give her straight crumbles. She started snake necking again and I had to start all over. I took the pine shavings out completely and restarted. Now it truly seems like she is getting better. I don't feel any fluid in her crop. Now it feels like its full of sand or grit near the end of the day. Don't know if that is normal. But she seems to be digesting her food mostly 100 percent by morning. I feel her crop and it's mostly empty. She is also eating 3 times as much as she was before. I heard that the sandy feeling is bad too but it seems like she is getting better. Not puffed up. Not snake necking. Eating lots more... like ravenously. Temps went up a lot the past week too.

As long as her crop is mostly emptied by morning, it sounds like she is doing better. Glad she is better. Having some granite grit abailable for free feeding can be helpful.

Yea unfortunately I gave her crumbles only the next day and she started snake necking again.... I'm just slowly feeding her small portions at a time now.

Can you give her some wet soupy food?
Did you ever de-worm her?

When you check the crop in the morning, is it still full or just doughy.
