I have two free range hens who had been broody for six weeks with no eggs under them. I put them in a pen with no nest box, and they are doing fine. I am wondering how long I need to keep them penned up before I can let them go again? Any other suggestions on breaking them from being broody??

I've heard three days, but thankfully have not had to deal with that yet
