Hey all! Just wanted to pop in and say hello. . . we were without internet for a few days this week (don't ask, AT&T is dumb) and I was going crazy! Hope all my SC peeps didn't experience any wind damage last night/this morning. Sheesh, it's sunny here now, but still blowing out there!

Did someone mention a party? Was that huckleberryfarm? Sounds good to me- let me know when and where

My broody Black Star is still a-settin'. One of the eggs cracked so now she's got 8. I love to watch her walk around beating up the other chickens when she does come off the nest

Those poor chickens must think she has lost her mind, walking around clucking, fluffed out, holding out her wings, pecking the poop out of everybody!

Knowing how my flock is when it comes to protein, I wouldn't have the courage to try holding a grub while they went for it!

That said, I think Food Grade DE is great stuff and will always use it around the coop, garden and house! I love the fact that it's a safe, natural pestcide. I just found a giant grub in my composte and didn't even think about giving it to the girls.....dang it! Now I wish I had! Time to go worm huntin'

what a great time in Irmo today at the swap meet i met some really nice people. i can only speak for myself. i had a wonderful time the rain held off. sold some really nice chicks. i took about 30 and sold out in less than 30 min. i could have brought more,but the weather at home changed my mind. for whoever did not get a chance to come you really missed some great fellowship.

I have a friend with a "black star" rooster and there is a certain breed with this name. I would like to find out some information about these chickens - as, of course, now I want some too. I've hatched a couple of chicks but not sure what I will get. Everything I search on the internet just gives me the black sex-link info and they are definately not sexlink birds. Very beautiful, distinct looking birds.
