I don't know what happened to Maggie. Hoping she's alright.

The past two days my energy level has been pretty good, but my hand, knee and feet are acting up from the arthritis. The meds take a few months to work, so this may be a long process. Tomorrow, I start on the injectable chemo to take away the heartburn from the pills. All the other crap I had the past few months set this Psoriatic Arthritis thing in motion. My night vision still stinks too.

Aren't you glad you asked? LOL.

I just went on hydroxychloroquinine (sp?) a few months ago. Antimalarial, they say it works for rheumatism.
Have seen an improvement, but taking waaaay too long.
They let animals be put to sleep, I wish I could have that option.
This getting old sucks.

Hi Roberta,

The address is 37-18 Northern Blvd, Long Island City, NY 11101. Yes, it is a little far from your place. I guess it is depend on how many hens do you have. If you only have a few, then driving may not be any better than pay for the shipping, but if you have more chickens to feed, then it may be worth considering.

Vanessa, what kind of order have you got so far? I am afraid to order too much, but will always overorder to help someone else out.
Just worried about storing it. I keep it in my garage, and if it snows, things sometimes get wet from the car.
I can safely store 300 lbs, but that's only about 2-3 weeks for me.

Rheumatic diseases suck in general. The meds take forever to work, and they may not, so you have to switch and start all over again.

Hang in there, Roberta. I do know what you mean about getting older and it sucking big time. The golden years.....Right!!!

It never ceases to amaze me how interconnected things are. I just received my order from Randall Burkey and when I opened the box with the feed, it was... you guessed it, Countryside Organics. (Not cheap. $36.99 + 15.00 shipping.) Now that I know I can get it in Long Island City, it may be worth the trip for me.

Roberta, I guess we could work out a relay of sorts. I could pick up both orders and we could meet up and divvy up the goods.

I put the feeder in the run and the girls made a beeline for it. They LOVE it. I loved the way it smelled when I opened the bag. (No, Al, I didn't eat any of it.) The dog even tried to climb in the box. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!

(I'm going to give the old feed to the squirrels and other birds in the front birdfeeders. Maybe the hawks will feast on them instead.)

I broke the news to Bobby that I want to add more run space tomorrow. "TOMORROW!?!?" He's so funny. He pretends he's mad...

Roberta, We just started today. I also posted on city chicken group, so far didn't hear from anyone yet. Megan need 6 bags, I will get 5 bags plus 4 bags of gardening stuff. I am also getting one bag of whole wheat as I will sprout them to feed my girls. They love greens and now I don't have any extra from my garden anymore and they complain all the time:)

I am NOT ready to commit, but if I do, will probably be 6-8 bags.
Do you have any eta on the delivery?
How often do you do this?
I am just concerned about switching back and forth between brands.
Thanks, Roberta

it may take a week to 10 days for us to accumulate enough orders/payments to send off to countryside (we need a minimum of 44 bags, and up to 50 or so.) Once the order is in it usually only takes two days to arrive, so a date for pick up would be set then.

Megan only put in an order every 2 or 3 months
