Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Thanks, Al. I read the stupid papers, but it's better just talking to others. If all it is is that, I can deal with it. I have a big bottle of pills to deal with headaches.
Had to work yesterday, so waited til I got home to start taking them. Have to plan pain, just so I can work or have fun.

Really looking forward to the show in Mass next month, it's gonna be a biggie.
How far away from West Springfield are you guys? It's supposed to be a biggie.... Gfletch George is thinking about going.
What else is there to do? Take down your Christmas lights?
Hah, need... more... biggie...coffee...biggie!

Most people don't have super serious side effects, and the med has been proven to be fairly safe over 50 years.

I just checked and West Springfield is 104 miles away. Not too bad a trip for me. Has to be longer for you, though. If it isn't snowing we might just take a ride up there. Is there a website for the show?

Cards! ACK!! I forgot cards...

I was going to put a Christmas tree in the coop and lights on the outside. Too over the top??

How about little stockings with the girls' names on them?

Roberta, I hope you're feeling okay and get to skip all the side effects.

I'm definitely giving some thought to the West Springfield show. Maybe even just drive up for the day on Saturday ... have to see what's going on family-wise and weather-wise at that point. I've been to the venue before, the Eastern States Expo grounds (every February there's a big railroad memorabilia show up there, and some pals and I usually head up for that). It's not a bad trip, I95 to I91 to the West Springfield exit.

Roberta ... how's George doing? Settling in?

My bird integration is definitely going better than last time -- no blood bath this time around, but there's still a good bit of chasing and picking and they're definitely trying to keep their distance from each other. Since no one has actually been hurt, I'm trying not to interfere, and let them work it out, but it's hard to step back! Can't they just all get along happily so it's not a constant source of worry?!

The two Barred Rocks have been staying in the coop during the day, while the JB's have been hanging out in the yard. Whenever the BR's start to venture, they get chased, so they wander back in. The nights go smoothly, though. Everyone roosts on the roosting bars with no trouble or fighting once it gets dark.

Conway has not yet taken over his missing brother's role ... he crowed a couple of times yesterday, seemingly just to see if he could. Once he saw that he didn't get beat up for doing so, he seemed happy and hasn't made a sound since!

West Springfield Mass? Isn't that where the Yankee Candle factory is? If so, it's not that bad a trip. And the Factory is a great stop. If you're sensitive to smells, it might be a problem, but it's a lot of fun.

I wonder if I can get Bobby interested in a chicken show? He spent an outrageous amount of money on my Christmas presents this year, so I may have to actually be nice to him for a couple of weeks.

Suzanne, this is the kind of dummy I am...
Everything sounds normal, except...
The names on the stockings. They use that glittery glue, I see the kids pecking at that, if they can get to them.
Other than that, everything's normal!

Don't encourage me!

I was gonna put the stockings on the mantel in the living room. I did that one year when I was housing five dogs and thirteen cats, plus my daughter and myself. And I think her boyfriend at the time. 21 stockings hanging on the mantel. I have a picture somewhere...

I just mentioned the chicken show to Bobby. And the Yankee Candle factory. Which may or may not be a good thing with his allergies. hmmmm....

I need to find something else in the area I can lure him with.
