Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Haha! No, you didn't scare anyone off, chickenDude. Just a slow news day, I guess.

We're holding our own but finding it difficult to get around with all the road closures. The rain has really screwed things up since the ground was so water soaked already.

The girls still produced 5/6 today. They are much more comfortable since the temps have dropped. They are out in the covered run right now. I might let them out to forage if the drizzle stops.

So, how was your day?

312 was open as far as I know. Everything leading to points south today was in trouble. The Saw Mill Pkwy, The hutch, Bronx River, the Sprain, and I'm guessing parts of 22, all closed. In the big "Put" it was backroads and small flooding that was the problem. Managed to hang onto power, so far.

Yea, all those roads that have river in their name become rivers after a heavy rain. Good to hear the power is still holding. I just ordered a standby generator this afternoon. Will be here in 5-10 days. No more sitting in the cold and dark for us.

We had ours running for the 18 hours we were down last week. Only use it every couple of years, but it is nice to have, especially in the winter.

It used to be that way here too 20 some odd years back. They did a lot of tree trimming about 10 years ago and it was fine for most of those years up until a few ago. Time to start cutting again, NYSEG!
