Hello everyone. Haven't been on in awhile. Hope you all are safe from this storm and your family and chickens are safe. My hens live in such an old coop with a roof that needs replacing and a sick maple tree over it (their only source of shade) I am worried for them. If it starts to look really bad, I can relocate them to the garage which should fare better.
I will probably have my mom and dad, their 2 huge dogs and their parrot staying with me. They live directly on the water in Amityville. My entire family of 4 brothers and their families all live on the water. I feel bad for my one brother who just got finished building a beautiful house on the water in Massapequa. I seriously hope the house is ok and of course him and his family. My other brother had 2 ft of water in his house from Irene. This is sounding to be much worse than that.
Heather: I know it seems crazy to live on this little spit of land, but it is where I was born and where my entire family still lives so we stay. Having said that, I don't think there is an area in the world that isn't prone to one kind of natural disaster or another.
