Stop you?! I'm egging (ha!) you on! I think it'll be awesome! What about peafowl? I looked at getting a potting shed today with a big skylight. I'm still debating getting quail but maybe not this year. I want the garden to come first in 2013. I'm planning on putting in a butterfly garden and some more berry bushes. I made a dust bath too, I hope they use it. They are so weird, I can't get them to cool off in the summer either.
It's not a chick, it's the D'Uccle bantam I picked up at the NJ state fair last Aug. I still don't know how old she is, but she was fully feathered then. She hasn't laid an egg yet though. She has been eating pellets since I brought her home. I clean their nesting area every morning so no-one has been eating the poo. I will do a thorough coop clean as soon as I can, tomorrow or Wednesday when the kids go back to school.
I am going to look through my supplies drawer in the morning and see what I have for treatment. I might have some corricid already. I'm still not convinced that that is what it is though. I might bring her indoors and observe her. Heck I'm not even 100% sure it was the D'Uccle. Maybe I'll get that camera in there. If I treat the whole flock, do I need to throw out any eggs?
Happy New Year everyone! I love that we're all online discussing chickens.it's 11:11! I wish for perfect health for all of us, avian and human alike. Much love -![]()
Many good wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!It shows how much of a life we all have hanging out on BYC an hour to midnight on New Years Eve. Just kidding! I think chickens keep us at home doing safe things.
Blessings to all,
Tina
