My name is Rose, and I am from Carmel. This summer I plan on starting a small flock of egg layers as a business project for my grandsons, and fun for me. I have never done any of this before and i am looking foward to the outcome. I haven't started anything yet, so any advise would be good. Im glad more people are returning to the old ways.
The little polish girl is standing a little more erect. Been giving her some PT every day. Until her insurance runs out......went to 3 different stores the other day looking for vitamins . For something like infant vitamins they would keep the shelves stocked.
Worked in the yard all day today. Had my little silkies that followed me home from the conference out for most of the day. They are the cutiest little things. Their toes still freak me out though .
Have a Happy Easter everyone.
Time for a rant.... The more I use that book " the chicken health handbook" the more I think it sucks....
If my husband doesnt order a poultry reference book soon I'm going to scream.
I think come Monday I'm going to call his hospital administrator and have him order one but send it to me....
I'm going to tell him it's my anniversary present...better than flowers
OK I'm done now....
Your eggs are lovely! The girls have blessed me with 12 eggs in 6 days
.....light brown (Daphne), brown (Ginger & Poppy), green/blue (Ivy) and blue/green (Violet). I am so happy and they seem so contented, I also found out that Poppy, my speckled Sussex is the Mama hen. She overseas everything and make announcements of what is going on in the coop. I'll enter and she'll start yammering,:cd so I go to the nest box and Voila! an egg. If she does the same and someone is missing, you can count on one inside the coop sitting in a nest. She is the "Hall Monitor of the Coop". :yiipchick
