queenchick, good for you! Isn't fresh kale from the garden phenomenal? I never knew I loved kale so much, untill we began growing it in the garden. Wow.

Hi everyone. Thought I would give an update as to why I have been missing... thought the blood pressure meds were working, then the headaches and pulsatile tinnitis came back. My new doc (who I love love love) also heard the bruit in my right carotid (the last doc told me I didn't know what I was talking about). They sent me to Morristown to a vascular doc who ordered an ultrasound of all of my major arteries. Everything was spotless until they got to the right internal carotid (75% blocked). The doc said I am too young, in too good of shape, and too health conscious to have this so we need a pile of tests to rule out vasculitis, and other oddball conditions. So, yesterday I went for bloodwork. 18 tubes worth. Then I passed out in the office. What a scarey sensation. Now I am on total rest and no stress. Yeah, that is likely. Anyway, the leading diagnosis at the moment is fibromuscular dysplasia. Even I had to look that one up. I hope they are wrong and it is just an oddly put together carotid that allowed for a clot and they can get it out of there ok. If it progresses to 80% I have to have surgery. Not really comfortable with having my carotid artery cut open, but I suppose I will be left with little choice. In the mean time I am on a diet and exercise program that would put Dean Ornish to shame. Let's hope I can get this straightened out with the nutritional cocktail I have put together, the BP meds, a baby aspirin, and diet and exercise. I will not be on here much over the next few weeks, but I hope to see some of you at the show.

Hi Ladies. Hope everyone is ready for what looks to be a beautiful weekend. I had a neighbor today whom I offered eggs to, she asked my husband if they are safe to eat. I really was amused and wish for once my husband hadn't restrained himself from his normal smart comments. I hope she enjoys them though. We brought home four new girls today (TY Heather) and they have already started making themselves home. One had the kindness of laying an egg already. I had read so much about moves causing hens to quit laying so I was in such shock when she just dropped an egg in the middle of nowhere. I had just been petting her and sat her down. Anyways tomorrow we have a lot of yard work to catch up on. My girls are really curious about the new girls and during yard time they had to stand at the fence to look at the 'new' kids. We will keep them apart for at least a few weeks.
Anyone need a heat lamp? Heather was kind enough to give it to me, but if someone is in need of it I will bring it over to the Sussex Fair.
I second this! I hope everyone has a wonderful Mothers day, no matter who your children are-human, furry, feathered or finned! Much love to all.I'm wishing everyone a very Happy Mother's Day! We are all mothers-- nurturers, caretakers, and cherishing those in our care. May your Mother's Day feel full of appreciation and good things!![]()
