Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

You guys crack me up...Up here in Upstate New York..we stay home only if the roads are totally filled in....like feet at a time...though I think you all live in a awesome place..do you get feet of snow at a time...?

Not usually, but Mags owns a car that barely takes off in the rain, so I was just giving her a hard time!
But I seriously think this winter is gonna be bad. I remember one winter, I walked to the store, and as I looked down, there were the little nubbins from the car antennas under my feet! That was a bad winter. And I'm not gonna say what year that was, it will give away my age!!

Yes, we do get snow in feet in one event. Last year was one 20+inch storm after the other.

I know in Buffalo it can snow 6 ft in a couple of days and the roads remain fairly clear. In our county we are well prepared for snow, but NYC has some issues with nowhere to put the snow.

Upstate is very cool too. Next weekend we are going ot the Garlic Festival in Saugerties, which is a huge event.

Roberta, don't put the jinx on us. Last year was enough snow to last me for a long time. I'm freaking out just thinking about driving to work in that white crap again.

Blame it on me, I'm in trouble for everything else!
But seriously, hurricanes and earthquakes and global warming, flooding, tsunamis...What's next?

Please! Don't go there...Tornadoes are our big fear up here. One hit the house in '89, and Irene spawned a small one right behind our house.

Timet to build a bunker!
