Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Ooooh Polish. Where exactly is this farm? It sounds like a great place to visit.

The wine with a rooster on it is "47 lb Rooster" and it is actually an ok wine for being so inexpensive. We discovered that one while we were living in CA and shopping at Trader Joe's a lot.

Count me in on the cream legbars. I have room for 2 - 3 pullets and a rooster. Then I can give everyone fertile eggs for hatching... just like the ameraucanas that should be laying fertile eggs soon. I also can provide Barred Rock and Dark Brahma eggs. I am not NPIP or otherwise certified... I can say that my flock seems to have cleared whatever was bothering them at the end of the summer. We think they got into a pile of poisoned hornets from two nests that were exterminated. 2 of the 4 that got sick recovered.
Garden State Parkway exit 91. Schusters Farm. He's on BYC also. About 5-7 minutes from the exit and you only make 2 turns. REALLY easy. His little bantam white crested blacks were just precious. My buddy took a golden. At this minute he didn't have any more little ones left in his brooder tanks.....but he said he begins setting eggs in December. So if someone wanted to have those eggs included he'd sure accomodate you. He had some very nice little silkies as well. He doesn't keep them color seperated though so they come out all mixed I believe. Almost brought home a partridge.LOL

Just got back from volunteering at my CSA.
Visited with mr speckles the blue splash Orpington
Roo the adopted from me. He is so beautiful and huge.
I miss him but at least I can visit him. He has like 30
girlfriends.

How nice to be able to see him grow up!

It is really close, and much safer than Springfield.
Can I just say, Wow, y'all are much better about decision making than the rest of my friends? It takes my local friends like 24 emails to decide if we're getting together for a movie or not, and you all just BOOK IT. So cool. I have alerted John that I would really, really like to go to this fair and he said, eeeehhh, ok - do I have to go too? No. Ok! Then we're on! I'll book a reservation for the Red Roof too, we have a AAA card. Midnight crocheting party?

Argh! Can't do it. Just realized we'll be in Florida then. Darn. Take lots of pictures for me though.

Heather, I'm waaayy disappointed that you won't be there. You'd love it!

I just booked a room in Enfield. AARP rate (yes, I'm that old) was $55 a night. Two full beds, so if anyone needs a room, I got one. Carol?

I'm really, really happy to report that the issue with my mother has been resolved. She made the decision to put the family home on the market and find a smaller, cheaper place to live. The best part is that she has some hope and excitement about this next chapter of her life, mixed of course with her grief over leaving her current home. Her enthusiasm for life is one of the things I love most about my mom.

I may even get a new chicken to celebrate!!

That's great news for your family! Something new opens up many doors we never might have thought we would cross. I wish her a happy transition.:)
