Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Thank you, Roberta. I'm getting so anxious. The breeder is a post office retiree and her hubby works at their PO district office. He hasn't been able to get any more info than I have been provided. I'm tempted to call FedEx and see if they can track the shipment using my PO shipping number. Your prayers and hugs are appreciated.

The birds she shipped at the same time to Kansas and Tennessee have arrived...but not the birds coming to NY....

I really could use some positive chicken thoughts from y'all. I took the plunge and bought show quality silkies for Lindsey. They were shipped on Thursday of this week with a guaranteed delivery by 12 noon yesterday. Unfortunately, they haven't arrived yet...sigh.
The PO uses FedEx to ship poultry...and is unable to determine where the birds are. A really nice woman at my local PO "hub" has been kind enough to call me periodically to let me know there are no signs yet of our birds. I am hoping that these birds arrive alive and well.
It's a glorious day here and I have spent timeoutside cleaning the coop, holding the birds and trying to keep the rowdy young Roos quiet. I'm trying to keep myself busy, but it's impossible not to think and worry about the new birds.

That is the worst feeling. I hope they are all ok.

I went to the sussex county fairgrounds for the fall harvest festival today. Besides tasting more honey than you can shake that little tasting stick at, I discovered infused honeys and lipbalms from Lee's Bees. If you like honey and you ever want a great natural lipbalm, you need to check this site out: http://www.etsy.com/shop/LeesBeesNJ I mean, seriously, cinnamon and cedar lip balm? Fennel? Rosemary and mint? And they are super nice. She also has infused honey, soaps, cream, etc. She has a blog for her farm too, she is rescuing an old farm. Neat stuff. www.silverspringfarm.org

I know that feeling, I couldn't sleep all last week. I'm sending you some positive energy and wishing that the chicks get there ASAP.

Thank you all. I just got off the phone with a woman from the Tampa airport post office. She has been trying to track down our birds since 4:30pm. She hopes that the birds are headed to Newark airport from Memphis. If so, they will be trucked to Newburgh, NY and we may be able to pick them up in tomorrow.
Tina
