Good morning storm buddies.

Reporting from southern nyc tip........winds picking up with some big gusts and a light rain at the moment.
The 4 gables in my roof are howling. This old house makes the most wonderful sounds.............i'll have to sit in the ancient attic later for the full effect.
My birds won't come out of their coop doorway onto the decking. Looking scared. I have 3 little ones in the shed....4 juveniles locked down in coop with a window/water/feed. And the grown-ups enclosed in the pen area so they can go in and out of theor building at will.

everything stays put.

My sister is in Point Pleasant NJ and the winds are jamming that beachup and how.
I am feeling like a nervous Nellie.

Good Morning, Maggie! I've been thinking about you in your big old house on Staten Island!

My girls haven't come out of the coop into the run. I'm gonna go take a peek at them. I think Bobby and I are going to venture out for some breakfast while we still can. I'm not as worried about storm damage as I am about a cabin-fever related homicide...

Good morning All, lights are already flickering and we very rarely lose power.my husband went to work hopefully he can make it back. If not its me, the dog ,my girls and the sulfate. Had to move him into the ground so he doesn't drought. He digs himself in pretty deep.
My cell phone is-516 356-9405
Be safe everyone,love Carol

I locked my hens in for the day and tomorrow too, feeling guilty but I didn't know how bad the winds and the rain would get. should have let them out as it's not that bad yet.

Me too! I'm jumpy! I've been running around cleaning. What the heck? Like the floor is going to stay clean when it's pouring and we have dogs!!

We've got some nasty gusts, a little drizzle but nothing substantial yet.

Exact same here in Dutchess County,

WOke up with a migraine,,So paiful! Kids home from school,

Verylight rain, the driveway isn't even that wet. Horses, chickens, and rabbits moved into the feed shed. Everyone locked in. I actually could have left the door to the horses adjoining paddocks open, but didn't know what to expect overnight. Chickens must be ****** the coop door isn't open, but I think they're better off for it. Was going to hang one of those chick treat things for them to maybe keep them occupied.

Keep the updates coming guys... they help... and prayers of safety to all.

So, my son went out to fill the chicken waterer and found...ANOTHER GREEN EGG!!! So darned exciting!! Diva is getting that whole egg production thing kick started!

I SO hope the rest of the girls figure it out pretty soon!

My husband just got home, everything in the yard is in or down, and I'm exhausted. I'm going up to fold socks-Dan's working in the morning, and figures he's gonna need dry socks. LOTS of them!
That's awesome. I picked up an egg this morning - can't believe they're laying with the high winds - and it never gets old. It's so magic!

So we've already had apple pie for breakfast, I made a peanut butter chocolate ganache base for truffles, i'm planning biscuits and oven fried chicken for dinner with greens..... help me before I cook again! One would think I'd use this time to get all my writing finished but it's amazing how many distractions I can come up with instead.

My in-laws are staying with us. Say a prayer for me or just plan on visiting me at Bedford Correctional for Women later on after I commit a homicide. JUST KIDDING. They'll never catch me.

This was on the twitter feed for the NYC Police Scanner:

Brooklyn: 206 Freeman St EMS Treating a victim with serious head injures who was injured by a falling tree what fell on him.

I'm just in love with the way they worded it. You know that's how s/he said it.
