Hello! I'm a new chicken owner. I currently have 16 chickens of various breeds. Yesterday I noticed my Splash Cochin Bantam 9 weeks old, (I think that is the breed I know it's a bantam) was lame and not running in the yard with the flock. I picked her up to give her a look over and found that her left foot/leg was swollen and bloody... They weren't out ranging the last few days due to very bad storms and bug spray company coming out and treating the yard. I brought her inside and separated her from the flock. Initial research showed that it was something called 'bumblefoot'. I now don't think that's what this is. I proceeded with care instructions for 'bumblefoot', I soaked the foot/leg in Epsom salt water for 20 minutes, got 'Vetericyn Plus' and 'Hen Healer Multi-purpose ointment'... I sprayed the 'Vetericyn' then applied the ointment and covered with non-stick gauze then wrapped it in a vet wrap. While doing all of this I did not find the 'kernel' that I kept reading about for 'bumblefoot' her whole leg is swollen and bloody from her one toe up. I have no idea what to do and how to save her. I have attached pictures from last night when I discovered the injury up to the point of when I soaked the foot/leg. Any help, advice and education is very welcomed! Hopefully we can save this girl!

*** The last 2 or 3 foot pictures are of her other foot which also seem to be irritated but not swollen...

Try trimming away the feathers to get a better look. That might give you a better idea of what you’re looking for.
