Spring Granny Square Swap

Betty,

I haven't gotten any either. I know of a number of us having internet problems since the solar eruption and that might also be part. At any rate, I posted the afghan picture partly to see whether anyone is around and am glad to see you are. Alethea

What a beautiful afghan! That looks simple and maybe something my kids could do.

Wal Mart raised the yarn prices by .25 darn it. We are selling crocheted book marks at school to buy more yarn and now we have to refigure,,, this is where the math lessons come in! I'm hoping JoAnns has a good sale coupon coming up again soon.

OH NOOOOO !!!

How did I manage to do this???

I did my first 2 squares sooo carefully, learning the pattern. Then I put it down for a few days and when I picked it back up I said "I got this!" and did the next BUNCH without the pattern... Keeping my little tape measure near-by and checking each one to make sure it was 'pretty much' the right size (a little streachin'/a little squishin')
I was taking them out of their bag to count them last night and there are 2 that are much smaller.... hummm..... I discovered that there are 2 6X6 squares.. and 17 7x7 -- Oh No! Did I really???
I just checked and they are supposed to be 6X6...............

I guess tonight's crocheting time will be spent taking that extra round off of 17 squares...... LOL

I'm sure your students can make this afghan. The principle color is five rows of triple crochet. The accent stripes are three rows of double crochet. The middle row of the accent stripes is a different color than the other two rows. It probably isn't obvious on the picture because I used two different apricot colors and two different yellows and the differences are subtle.

I understand lol, one of my girls made 23 7x7 squares so we are going to make some to go with those too!
