Spring Granny Square Swap

I have a question,,, I was in Wal Mart looking at yarn and needed the bright yellow,, there was not one skein!! I've noticed several times that yellow and hot pink and purple are not there.
What is everyone's favorite colors?
I like reds, purples,, yellow,, red and purple are always available but yellow isn't!

Hummm.... I thought that my fav color was green - until I looked into the tote holding my spare and left over bits of yarn. Apparently I'm very partial to the warm earth tones - browns, dark reds, golds, oranges.
Can't wait to find out what everyone else's are.

Got a question - if your fav is blue, purple or green... are you getting a little sick of it lately?

These are the 3 chicks I picked out for my grandkids who live in Japan to name. Here is what they came up with: Lilia who is 3 named the first one pictured "chick chick" Steven who is 6 named the next one "Fluff" and the last one Kuma who is 7 named her "Tom"

My favorite colors are green and blue, not the bright ones. Oh and I like the dark reds also. Most every room in my home has some green in it.

That was my ? also Rancher "what are the walls going to be made of"?

Rancher-nice coop.

Favorite color? I don't know. It depends. I guess I lean to peach and soft greens.

Das - CUTE babies!!!!! Thanks for sharing.

Rancher - Can't wait to see how you finish that coop. I've got bits and pieces all over the yard but haven't started anything yet. A neighbor swears that they're going to bring me an old shed that they want to get rid of. The thing is HUGE so I'm determined to wait on that and use all the materials that I've gathered for the run instead...but I think that if it goes much longer I'm going to have to go rent something to move it myself.

Alethea - My sister is all into the peach and green thing too. I've made her a couple of blankets as Christmas presents but now I'm out of ideas. Time to start looking for a pattern of something 'cool' I guess.

Just stopping in real quick while I take a break. I won't have time to crochet until tonight after dinner clean up.

YAY!!!! Thanks for the adorable baby pics. My DD has named most our chicks over the years. It's fun to see what names kids come up with. I have one hen named Kyle. A friend's child named her. I had hatched them for her, but a fox wiped out the whole flock except Kyle (black Am) & Splash Am roo. She can't have roos in her neighborhood so I was going to take him back for her and she didn't want Kyle to be lonely so I took her back as well until they can build a more secure area against foxy loxy.

Cainsisters~ Love your new profile pic!

It's another beautiful day here. I wonder what is in store for us. Love the sunshine, but worried about everything else. Above norm temps. I wonder if we'll jump right into summer. We usually can safely plant garden until after April 15th. Last yr around this time it was colder than the norm and we had a late snow cover our daffodils. My peeps love it. I've been letting them run wild and free while I'm at home. I'm scared to let them out when I'm not home until the leaves branch out on the trees to give them a little more coverage.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Yes! I love the earth tones too but the richer browns, reds & rust colors. Not so much the beige and taupes. Red is my fav color but 20% of my clothing is in brown tones and I have hardly any red. I look terrible in red though. Brown is definitely friendlier for my skin tone. Course it doesn't take a lot of red to make a nice accent.

I agree with Kim. The new avatar pic is a keeper. Looks like we could be related. lol

No I'm not tired of the blue, purple and green yet. I don't often love the hues I get for projects but this time I am very happy with the colors I found! IDK what it is about these swaps but I have loved the colors I found for these last 2! I usually have to settle for something I'm not crazy about.

dascountry love the chick pics! How cute that you let the Grandkids name them! My Granddaughters love the chickens but they've never asked to name them. The oldest are 4 & 5. I bet they would love to name them.

Kim here are the updated pics I promised. Here are the newest babies. I gave them some mash and once they were full they just started playing in it so they are a little messy.
The yellow ones are yokohamas and the lavender is an ameraucana and the others are EEs.

Here are new pics of the polish babies. Their crests are getting a little fuller now. Don't these two boys look like they are ready for some tats and piercings? hahaha

This girl's crest is so big I doubt she can see well.

One more, a group shot. Well 1/3 of them anyway. It's a big brooder

I love peach! We got some red heart peach in a donation bag of yarn that I just loved! Out of the greens I think Mint Green is my fave! My birthstone is emerald,,, but I don't find a matching yarn for that.
Rancher-nice coop.
