Spring Granny Square Swap

Almost done. Here's what I have so far. I crochet while watching Picket Fences on the computer. I can get lots of DVD's at the library.

Plus I can order them online and just go in and pick them up. The second square is really orange and yellow like the Josephs Coat rose. Which by the way never did good for me here. I like roses if you didn't know.

So far I've got 4 purple/wht, 3 red/wht, 2 yellow, and 1 orange/yellow. Anyone have a favorite color you'd like me to see if I've got the yarn for it?

I love roses also. I just planted a new climber "New Dawn" I have a Joseph's Coat and it does all right here but I think the heat bothers it swome in the hottest part of our summer. Remember our colors are "cool colors" fom the color wheel. I love that pattern and may try it myself.

Rancher you squares are so, soooooo lovely, but they are not in the guide lines for the color theme chosen by the swap hostess baustin (Betty) for this swap. All guide lines, color theme, & deadlines are posted on page 1, post 1 along w/ a "cool" color, color wheel palette to refer to some where in this thread posted several times. The color theme is paler cool blues, lavenders, greens, w/ maybe a little white or cream. No pink or very little to be used. Betty replied to your question saying your pattern will be great in the "cooler" colors.

The way the swap works is the hostess gets to choose the rules, the theme, the type of yarn (4 ply in this case), the color theme (palette), dead lines etc. We chose a palette and size of squares to form unity, so all the squares can blend together when making a project out of them. That is the perk of being the hostess.

I know I have a ton of stash yarn, but not in the cooler colors, so I have to go to the store and purchase yarn as well.

I think other participants had to do the same thing and go out and buy yarn to go w/ the color theme and some past participants if they didn't like the color theme chose not to sign up and participate for this swap if they didn't like the color theme.

We all make one square per participant, so each participant will get one square from you along w/ one square from all the other participants.

There is still plenty of time to purchase "cooler" colored yarn and complete the squares before the deadline in April. I'm so sorry if you miss understood, but thought you should know as soon as possible, b/c you said they take a lot of time and effort for you to make them. They are a beautiful pattern. I LOVE IT!!!

No Rancher is right. If she wants to use these colors, sends them out and then that one square that each person gets from her doesn't match the other square colors at all, it would be more of a shame, cause then those pretty squares won't get used. It would be much better to wait and send them off at another time when the beautiful squares she's made can be used in a project. I understand it not working for her at this time and that's OK.

Well, I finally took photos of some of my blocks for the spring swap. I didn't take photos of all blocks, over 20 now, but I showed my favorite old pattern .
