Spring Granny Square Swap

Here's a new pattern I tried while in the car to pick up DD from Nature Training at the camp she works at during the summer.
As you can see I wasn't paying attention to my stitches and the top one looks more pentagon shaped. Heehee!
I thought Kate's kids would get a good laugh at the first attempt of a new pattern coming out all lopsided. Gave to DD and she'll probably sew on the back of one of jean pockets, so at least I won't feel like it's a waste. LOL!!
The second one looks better, but still needs a little tweaking as well. The center looks a little weird to me.

Good Morning Swappers~

Happy Monday!!!! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I forgot to tell everyone that I found some crochet, quilting, & craft books for a steal over the weekend at a book fair.

I several pentagons because of doing one group and the directions saying 3 more or 4 total and my misreading it and doing 4 more times!

I'm still working on my squares. The green in the first on is mint but doesn't show that way. Now I will include a few extras with out the white center so no one has to take them if they don't want to.
I've also been busy with chicks and chickens. 23 new chicks and where to put them. While i do have a place out of the office this weather is making me nervous.
Plus planning the spring garden.

I don't know where I went wrong, but think it was way early on. It wasn't worth ripping out since I tied things off as I changed colors, so just stopped and finished it off when I realized there were way too many petals making it wrong. I tried to begin another one thinking I could focus better being at home and not riding in the car, but benadryl fog got the best of me and something went wrong again. I caught it in time to pull it out this time. I'll try again when I can sit and focus on it. LOL!!!

Those are so pretty! Rancher you sound so busy w/ all your new baby chicks. I need to start planning my garden as well. Need to find some sun in my yard. Our neighbor put up a huge building shed on his property that blocks our only existing sun. I love the mature trees and shade, but miss my garden.

Afternoon all,

Rancher your squares are nice and I don't mind that little bit of white in the middle at all, so you can put dascountry on one of those if you'd like.

DH had to make my brooder larger. We were originally getting 25 chicks but ended up with 47 in all in 1 week! Since they are getting bigger they didn't have to much room to spread there wings.

Now they are all happy campers as long as my two Jack Russells leave them be.

I have to say I'm having second thoughts to setting another incubator of eggs. I've got my hands full now. Even with giving 4 away.

I was sitting thinking about this swap and it being a "spring" swap and all. Here spring is more than just green and purple and blue. I was thinking about all the Crocus I planted last fall. Over 60 I think. Though I expect not everyone can plant Crocus.

Though none have popped up yet, I hope to see some purple , yellow , white and orange in the front lawn. I did plant some Grape hyacinths too. About 80 too I think, among the daylillies.

This weather has been something else. The chickens ranging in the yard one day and then 5" of snow the next and frozen waterers.

I hope your bulbs pop up for you! I love the fragrance of the hyacinths. I planted over 100 or so different varieties of daffodils and haven't seen any of the new bulbs pop up either yet. Now the bulbs I planted years ago are coming up and I even saw a crocus almost ready to bloom. Very strange weather here as well.
