I *think* I saw some wiggling or movement from 2 or 3 of my four eggs, just not the biggest 700g egg. It is subtle and sometimes I can't tell if my eyes are playing tricks on me. I am weighing them weekly and weight loss is good. They are the only eggs I have ever had that started to loose too much moisture so I put them in their own incubator.
You should be close to seeing movement in yours, right? What temp are yours at? From what I read, mine could take 55 or more days because they are at the lower temp. What a fun and weird incubating experience.
and I am on lock down, can't wait all 8 fertile eggs have made it this far. sooooo hopefully will have a good hatch this time

yes, this will be her first time having baby's of her own![]()

Mine are incubating at 96.5-97. I've been weighing every few days, and I have 7 eggs that are right on track. 1 egg is loosing moisture weigh too fast, but I don't think its any good anyway. When I tap the eggs with my fingernail, I can hear a very distinct sound difference now. The egg I think is bad goes "tink", the others are more of a "thump".

I did see wiggling todayMajor wiggling, definitely not my eyes. I feel so much better now, I thought for sure I'd spend 55 days turning 5 times a day for nothing! C'mon little Emu!
That is exciting news! My son witnessed some wiggling yesterday so it isn't all in my head, thank goodness. With 7 eggs, something is bound to hatch. Emu eggs are like incubating blindfolded.
If anyone has tagged or is looking for Sally Sunshine, her internet woes continue with wind rain and sleet. She's able to occasionally get on and then loses the connection. She's frustrated and may give up for the day.

Quote: This one hatched on day 17. I had 3 hatch late on day 16 a week ago & one early on day 18, she's out of a tinier egg & is really small. I don't know quail well, but I couldn't get anything from candling after the 1st week so I listened to the eggs. The little "tick-tick-tick" of them trying to pip started 2 days before hatch. These things grow so fast!
thanks I had 8 last time too but only 5 hatched and one was runty and died so I am really hoping for at least 7 this time.I am on lockdown too, good luck with your hatch! I have 8 eggs in right now but a couple looked a little off so I don't think all of mine will hatch. The air cells were too small in a couple of them & they looked really dark. We'll see what happens; I hope I get a few at least.
