I have. I own several of them, for many years. I didn’t know a sex link could have feathered feet... take it easy on me I’m learning. Please don’t be nasty I’ve had a very difficult day. You've never heard of a black sex link?
Well. Yes. I do know what a cockerel vs rooster is. My question was do you have any experience with a cockerel who squatted GROWING up manly. He's 12 weeks old. Hardly ready to be a full fledged rooster yet.
Black sex link can be used as a general term for any offspring of a black barred hen x unbarred rooster. The most common cross is of a barred rock hen x Rhode Island red rooster, creating the classic hatchery BSL.I have. I own several of them, for many years. Ok thanks for explaining; I thought a BSL was what you described (the RIR / barred rock).... I didn’t realize that was just the most common and that there were variations. I’m desperate to learn bc I want to make my own sex links. Ok that’s all, don’t want to monopolize the OPs thread, I can be guilty of that.Black sex link can be used as a general term for any offspring of a black barred hen x unbarred rooster. No worries, darling! Hijack away! I don't think I'm going to get very far with this line of inquiry anywayOk thanks for explaining; I thought a BSL was what you described (the RIR / barred rock).... Thank you for being kind.
Lol, I guess you’re right... time will tell. Patience - one thing chicken owners don’t have when it comes to this age old questionNo worries, darling! Hijack away! And the BSL info just backs up the fact that this boy is a boy, even if he's acting more pullety than his (suspected) sisters!Time will answer my questions!

I’ve had two instances of roosters mounting other roosters. Oddly, in one of those, the one mounting was a lower ranking cockerel than the rooster he was mounting. It was a behavior that I believe was brought on by boredom due to their temporary housing.Well. Yes. I do know what a cockerel vs rooster is. Does anyone have a rooster or cockerel that squatted? Do I not count on this little guy to be able to do the deed?
Has he grown into normal male behavior yet?Time will answer my questions!
