Oh, sorry chickenboy. I did not have my glasses on. I thought you were the OP.
You are beneath snow aren't you?
I bet you are dreaming of gardens though.
I am. I would freeze and crack into two pieces if I had to live in Ohio.
and I would whine a lot. Nope. I need antifreeze for Florida. I think they call people like me wimps.

Yeah that's fine :).

Yeah I'm waiting for spring..........

Yep. Right now it's -18 with wind chill. There is snow right now also.

@chickenboy190 Hello!

Ooo, lookit that, your name goes blue like a hyperlink when I type it now. Getting all Facebookie here are we? Hashtags and Twitteristicalities?

Quote: It's been absolutely baking. There have been days where it's so hot in the shade you could almost cook an egg on the grass or green leaves of plants. Bushfires are a constant concern. My landlord lit a little pile of dry stuff, no fire ban at the time, and immediately the firies came and emptied a truckload onto the fire. I also hosed it down, as did someone else. Nevertheless, it's been about a month and the fire is still burning. Any time it rains it flares up again, which is kinda odd since it's only dry wood and newspapers, but there you go... It just won't die out.

BUMP

Jokes. :D

Yet not. What breeds do you keep, Luke? What ones would you love to?

What is this Bump business? I am assuming it gets the thread going again?

I have 2 RIR banties, 1 bantam frizzle, 2 WLH hens, 1 WLH rooster, 5 WLH chicks, 2 FWM's and 3 Aus Langshan's which will be selling shortly.

Leghorns the moment are my concentrated breed. I am trying to breed quality WLH's....emphasis on the trying. It's not the "right season" for selling stock/ eggs for Leghorns. All these breeders are driving me crazy. They are just so set in their ways and there is only one "right" way to do it!! .lol. sorry rant.

Now I have been a bit discouraged from the whole thing, so I am waiting on my Blue Leghorns to hatch then I might keep a rooster from that lot and breed blue splash white Leghorns. If that even is a colour.lol.
I know it isn't recognized but still, fun!

How about yourself?

When I was a kid we really did not get international news unless there was a war or a presidential visit.
Because Australia seems to keep it's nose clean I always wondered if you all had news. Then one day you guys caught fire. Don't do that again. It is not good news.

 Australia never seems to have any very interesting news. It's mostly about arguments in parliament over stopping asylum seeker boats (Tony Abbot has been pretty successful at that but has been accused of pulling a North Korea in the process, creeping around under wraps :p) and right now there's a bit of a fall-out over the national curriculum, which needs to focus more on the 'benefits of western civilisation'. really.
And of course the bushfires. We had some fires in the hills, same as most hot summers. I live at the bottom of the hills and there's never any problem there.

When I'm at home I usually watch SBS world news which is very interesting, but only shows the big stories from overseas. Being in a different country, as I am now, is pretty cool not only because it's a massive city and very cold (whoop! It's 30-40 degrees back in Australia ;P) but also because I can watch local news and politics from somewhere else which one never sees normally in another country.
