Kathy, you are not burying your son in the ground - he is not in that envelope you bore and raised and cherished and is now in the casket. You are honoring the physicality of his too-short presence with us, but Michael is not in the casket, just the body his soul used while you knew him.

As a precious and special person, his soul obviously touched many, many other people. He is still able to do so, just not using the method we mortal people can much more easily recognize. Michael is without limit - he no longer needs his body. You are honoring it for having carried your son.

I thought about you most of the day Kathy, and was praying that the Holy Spirit would comfort you during this time of mourning. May you be safe in your travels and return home feeling our Savior's love. Those who have passed on are aware of our thoughts and feelings, They know the plan and want us all to move on with our lives.
