Lukka has resumed laying and is pretty much ignoring her baby. They will be moving back to the Icelandic/Layer coop tonight. We meant to do it last night and forgot. Lukka is quite agitated and paces in front of the gate a couple of times a day. She is missing Isi I am sure.

I have finally gotten the big white drywall patch painted in my office. We painted the entire room because the investor's crew used both eggshell and flat paint and the wall were a mess. It looks much better. I am waiting to get carpet to cover the ugly parquet so my furniture and decor item are on the porch. Last night after dark I went out to put the tools and paint outside. Suddenly from the side yard there was loud hissing and screeching at me. It was coming from at least two animals. I presume it was raccoons. The volume was off the charts. I yelled for Michael to come downstairs. We went out again with the flashlight but they were gone. I suspect they were checking the chicken runs for stragglers. I was worried that they would pry the window screen off the little yellow house and go after my babies. There is a flower box below the window that they could climb up on. I am taking that off today and covering the window with hardware cloth. It freaked me out. A few nights ago Tucker needed to go out at 4:00 a.m. so I got the leash and took him for a walk. Yikes, I don't know what we would do if that happened during a walk. I am not going to go for late night walks again. That sound is still in my ears!

The farrier was here to do Jack and Diane's feet. He and his wife are ranchers and they she breaks and trains wild mustangs. They were a wonderful find for Jack and Diane. Jack stands perfectly still for Tony and almost seems to enjoy the process.

This is Isaac. He loves Diane and she loves the attention.

He also likes the "me moos"

Looks like Tucker is memorizing their smell.

Is that a good thing? I ask because after I moved them into their brooder, he ran around the yard and sniffed all the areas they had been.

Well Mary, I won a bid for hatching eggs from someone on rarebreedauctions. The seller had ended up with some of my Icelandics because someone else I sold them to didn't like them. I then found out that half of her flock is from the importation done by former BYC member "Icelander." So I thought what the heck, I'll introduce a little new blood into my flock. Then only two hatched so I bought seven day olds. Some will be from the Sigrid line and some from the new line but new blood is new blood. The seller told me she gets a lot of yellows but they don't feather out white like mine did. I am excited to see what I get.
