Geez Mary, I am still holding my breath, that was one scary video. Was it the hens that were attacking him? It looked like that. Wow. Fierce but dumb might be the solution. 'They blindly go where no sensible chicken has gone before.'

I think Michael got you the apple ipad to make up for NOT putting up the netting correctly. Isn't it great that things end well? Okay you may carry on.

Mary, I'm so glad none of your chicken got hurt. Very scary! I had a hawk snatch one of the little Orpington's a few weeks ago. It was so sad.
I ran after it. The hawk finally dropped it. It was to late. The sweet little thing died in my hands.

Your chick room looks great.... You are going to need the space with all those new chicks you have in the incubator.

So, here's something about house chickens I hadn't anticipated: snacking whilst watching TV with a BO and BR on the back of the sofa and a silkie sitting on the sound bar in front of the TV set.

It's a far more complicated situation than it used to be with just two small dogs and a cat begging for their shares.

That paints a funny picture.

I'm picturing all the poop on the couch.
lol

I am paranoid with Tucker in the house! Oh yeah, but that is Michael's bed he is on! Look at that big*ss TV and all the cords. I would lose my mind. I place TV's where the cords can be hidden. But Michael has too much stuff going to that TV like video games, speakers, etc.

Yes, it was the hens going after the hawk. The cockerel stood there like he didn't know what was going on. Probably thinking "That woman is moving chickens around again and look at the ugly one she added to our coop."

My babies all did great during the night. The little ones looked too scrunched under the Ecoglow this morning so I raised the back legs up just a tad. Luckily on the big Ecoglow if you place it against a wall the angle of the legs keeps the base from ever being absolutely flat on the ground. I worry about smothering that way.

I ordered more dark egg layer eggs and they guy got confused and thought I didn't want them and set them himself!

He is going to collect again this week and ship on Monday.

And no, I am not keeping many, if any of the eggs I am incubating right now. I have people that want some of them and the others I will put on Craigslist. The big bunch of Icelandics I just set are for an order for 15 chicks.
