Cyn - That is cold for your area. It is definitely tough when your body is accustomed to a little warmer temps. Hope your older "ladies" stay warm and healthy. The forecast does seem to be changing almost every minute. Every time I've looked today, our forecast has changed (to the colder). Sunday is forecasted to be a high of -18*F and a low of -37*F and this isn't including the wind factor. I don't even want to think of the wind chill. The governor of Minnesota closed all public schools on Monday (this never happens). We are used to cold, but this is ridiculous. I really feel for those in the interior of Canada. Our chickens are not escaping frostbite this year. No one is laying because it is just too cold and when one is laid there is little time before it is frozen.

BTW - my daughter loves the teal Mobius scarf that I got off your site. I'll have to get a picture, but she's at work right now.

Hope everyone that is in the way of this impending chill stays healthy and warm!

I was wondering how she liked it! Wonderful!

Oh, good grief, that is bone-chilling! We lived in Dayton, Ohio so I've experienced temps as low as -25*, but your predicted temps are so dangerous! Please be careful, Laurie!

The weather seems terrible-- I cannot imagine -25 degrees .
It's in the 70s here and too dry.

Be very careful about wild and hungry pit bulls. If their hunting instinct turns on, they can kill humans as prey.
I would not walk without a clobber type cane and a break stick (to pry open those locking jaws) - seriously.
Pit bulls are the greatest dogs depending on their owners.
By themselves I look at them as a potential hazard.

I hope everyone finds a way to keep themselves and their animals warm enough through this cold spell.

Here is an interesting article about a recently discovered chicken breed in Sweden, it's been living on a farm for 120 years. You need to use a translator to read, unless you speak swedish. http://www.svt.se/nyheter/regionalt/vasterbottensnytt/hona
