And started by a nitwit mowing. Who the heck mows dry grass in 100+ degree weather?Fire here too close for comfort. It is supposed to be contained now but smoke is horrible. I am going in to lay down with my oxygen on.

Wow, I've never seen a design like that. It's so pretty! I love the round mirror.Shop is sort of limping along. Hard to figure out how to let people know we are there. The good news is we are meeting our expenses monthly. The bad news is our neighbor, the only other "retail" type business in the building is moving out in two weeks. We know that will mean we don't have the draw of them anymore and the other businesses don't bring in our type of customer. Auburn is not particularly business friendly either. We have looked into moving, but many of the landlords don't want to lease space to retailers, they want title companies and bail bondsmen. So if something better comes up we might break our lease or just finish out the year, give it our best shot and close entirely if it isn't profitable by then. The hardest part for me right now is that two doors down is a cell phone company that caters to people who can't get a ceel phone contract. They guy who runs it steps out several times a day and puts a note on the door that says he will be back in 15 minutes which is more like an hour. The people who need to pay their bill or get their service restored loiter in front of our store smoking and spitting all over until he gets back. I have some very disgusting video to share with our landlord when we do give our notice. Plus we don't have water so I end up cleaning in front of my shop with water from a little paper cup. People won't walk through all that spew to get in our door.
So we will just press on. I still love painting and won't give that up. This is my latest piece, a 1920's Art Deco vanity.I had to spend $130 to replace the missing mirror and it took me four hours to polish the hardware but I love how it came out. I painted it Renfrew Blue.
