Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

Oh RoPo, I'm so sorry. I was really hoping this would all be resolved by now for you and Max. My prayers are still with you.

Because it is likely a union job and thus, they have a paid holiday that does not count on weekends, so they have to have another day off. That said, "essential work" places usually have a skeleton crew around the clock...they can't just let crimes happen or the utilities to be out.

In Oklahoma, the county courthouse is closed the days the County Commissioners choose. In December 2009 the County Commissioners met and decided what days the county offices would be closed. The Sheriff, judge and DA is just taking advantage of having an extra day off.

I so love much love our justice system that I am going to go break a law right now, just to prove I have nothing to worry about apparently! Because those awesome government jobs are just that... awesome pay checks that require little attention to your public role, a great retirement pension AND 60+ paid holiday's a year.

Jerks!

*waving hand cautiously* ... um guys? RoPo is definitely getting the worst end of any deal I've heard of, and I think that Sheriff's office is dirty dirty dirty AND Laaaazzzzzy!!! but .... there are very good and dedicated cops out there in other communities. Sheriffs departments, police departments and all that as well as many individuals just trying to do the best they can even if management may be very political or actually corrupt. Yes, there are even dedicated and *gasp* honest district attorneys.

My father's actual lawyer actually comes out to the house if he's not feeling well enough to get into the office. We're so far from rich it's not even funny so the guy isn't thinking he's going to make a million by doing so either! Of course we're in a rural area and the lawyer doesn't live very far away, but he doesn't charge any more than for an office visit, especially if we can wait till it's convenient for him. He even came to the hospital once so dad could sign something he forgot to have him sign when we were in the office. Didn't charge at all for that one since it was his mistake.... Now, I'm not saying everything is rosy and perfect, but neither is it all doom and gloom.

Cops, lawyers, government workers of any other profession or trade are just as much a cross section of humanity as anyone. ...ok, there are theories about the personality types who become some of those professions, but really are we going to just paint the whole world with one broad brush in one nasty color of paint?

Lets be fair!

(( //edit to add, 60+ holidays? huh? wow, more than one a week? really? ))

I think people are just venting, PortageGirl. I does seem this particular legal system in the town RoPo is dealing with is not exactly honest or motivated to help RoPo. With the exception of the wonderful judge and the DA, the rest of that particular justice system seems to have come from one of the far ends of humanity's cross section.

I'm sure you are correct in your assessment of law enforcement in general across the US. Just not this particular town. The sheriff's office in this town seems to be made up of mostly bottom feeders.

Which is what I said about that town and area Brindlebtch, but there was some very broad based things being said about any government of any kind, and police in general, is darn unreasonable. If people weren't going to realize that, I felt obligated to stand up and say so. To stand up for the many people who are honestly doing the best they can, do uphold their oaths as they pertain to serving and protecting the people in their areas, and also to say that object to anarchy in general, of any kind.

What's going on in RoPo's case is anarchy of a sort on the part of the Sheriff's office, but living and acting outside of the law is another kind. Nothing will change in that town without someone exposing the rotten core of that Sheriff's dept, but it isn't going to be us, or RoPo, though by her actions a little corner is getting exposed, and I want to support and encourage her in every way. Every case of someone standing up and fighting for their rights exposes a little more of their dirty little secrets but broad strokes of slander against any law enforcement, is not a good thing, and that's what I'm seeing. No I'm not a cop or a lawyer or a government worker. I am retired military so if you want to say that I'm on par that's ok for you to do, but tell ME, don't slander every military person who has been willing to fight and die for this country.

I know people are venting, but words are dangerous... that is why it's wrong not to stop and think about what is being said, just like it's wrong to shout "Fire" in a crowded theater. Words can be dangerous, so understand what you are saying, even is such an innocent place as this.

OM Goodness, 15 pages ago I was crying my eyes out and my DH ask what the ()&^ was wrong with me. Now I'm crying for you again.

If I had the money I would come out there and find his house watch it, see if the horse was there and call anyone that cared.
I'm going to hope on Tuesday the Judge will put that man in jail until you get Max back. Tell him he stays there untill he lets them know where Max is and then when you have Max back you get to decide when he gets out. Or make it a year before they let him out. That man is going to h*ll when he dieds.

Another thing, if they called him they know his address. They can find anyones address, thats bull.

Still praying for you.

I like what someone else said, give a reward, don't waste your money on an ad. Make postors put them all over the town, use that money for a reward.

God Bless you honey.

What are you talking about? We are here to support RoPo. I don't think anyone said anything about military people. That's not why we are here. I myself had a daughter and SIL over sea's fighting for our country, thank God they both make it back. So please get back on topic and lets work together to support RoPo.
