Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

I was away from the computer for two days... came in on the last page, back flipped a few pages to see Max was coming home and just as WriterOfWords said, had a gut feeling this wasn't going to go smoothly...

RoPo, I can almost guarantee you Max isn't "gone" as the uncle implies. He's hidden somewhere close. I hope Max is located soon, and that they put that piece of turd unle in jail, and melt down the key. Don't give up hope, this is a desperate and irrational man's way of doing things. He's in deep turds now. No way around it for him. Your horse is coming home to you, I can feel it. It's just this last set of hurdles that the turd is throwing in your way that you have to get through. It's going to be agonizing, but don't give up hope.

On that note, I'd be tempted to stake out their property if you do know the location.

When this is all over and you get Max back you could move far away from there so nun of them can bother you again. Here in TN my friend I went to school with is a judge and a very fair man. You would have the upper hand here.

When snooping around for Phil Depts here in Texas I found that they sorta have one in Tyler... so I was scoping out the area (you now, those Someday plans of having some land and DH able to drive 30 or less mins to work?) and one of the small town's had a big tadoo a while back... their police department was SHUT DOWN FOR CORRUPTION. Funny thing though, it wasn't the AG that did it... it was the FBI... they were raiding the evidence box and selling the less than legal contents... and were smart enough to sell to an undercover (FBI) cop (OH the irony) But, it was one of their own -new patrolman- that reported them... and that was to the Sheriff's Office... the next guys up... since you're already talking to them I guess maybe you'd have to go to troopers? I really have no idea, but I'd certainly ask. Wouldn't be the first time a citizen called the FBI to ask a What To Do/Do You Handle This kind of question.

The next step up from the sheriff would be the OSBI )Oklahoma Burea of Investigation). It takes a request from the govenor, a judge or the sheriff/chief for the OSBI to become involved. Ordinary people can not request assistance. Thus, highest ranking law enforcement in Cherokee County is...the sheriff! The sheriff out ranks the Tahlequah police chief in his own office!

Agreed. I would also be posting MISSING: Stolen Property! signs with pictures at local feed stores, vet's offices, post offices, boarding facilities etc... and be checking your local Craigslist to see if he is trying to sell him or lease him or find private boarders. (Try posting a "Help! Missing Horse" ad in farm and garden area. It might get deleted, but some will see it before that.)

Im sure if someone sees that he is Stolen Property and is somehow helping the Uncle by hiding Max, or the Uncle is trying to move Max to their property, these people would be less likely to be involved if they were seeing signs around town.

Hope you have luck tomorrow!

You should really contact netposse now. Now that you have legal right to reclaim your horse and he has been supposedly been given away, you can use them as a way to get his info out there to be seen and for him to be found.
