Still saying prayers that all comes out ok. (((HUGS)))) And you are welcome...this must be why things were not progressing from the Sherriff's office. they had bigger and better plans for this dufus!!
Charges were finally filed because of involvement of the media, go back to them to highlight the uncle keeping stolen property. When the media contacts the sheriffs office for comment you will see more action.
Added note with your lease and charges filed there should be no problem getting a magistrate to sign repo papers, then go get him.
I need to file the report on the uncle before I do that correct? Otherwise, they will just say it is a complaint and write it off, or say that they have no idea what the media is talking about.
But yes, I am absolutely certain the media forced this issue to the surface.

This is good news. I have a feeling that the uncle may buckle under the pressure and just return the horse. But even if he doesn't end all be all, you will get the horse in the end. Something is being done.

There should be no need to file a report on the uncle, your horse is stolen property and the state should collect the evidence, and file charges. It may take a little more pushing on your part, or the media. If it was me I would take the media and go to the uncle's property and demand he turn over your horse, if he refuses he that will be used as evidence that he is attempting to permanently deprive, a key element to prosecution.
Aw...I just found out that Max's father is up for sale. If you wanted to see one side of Max's family, it's available here: http://www.horseclicks.com/horses/xfyny4/
Man...that stud has gone down in the past 3 years.
Either way, I have a feeling if the uncle knew the lineage...
*I really do hope that he just gives up and returns Max. That would make everything so much easier. But I have a feeling he's going to be much more hard-headed even with the DA telling him there's no way he can win.*

I can't remember if you posted it or not, but was Max transported across state lines, if he was he is in bigger trouble then he realizes once the feds are involved.
