I just introduced two barred rocks (they had been laying at their 'old' home) to my two wyandottes (who have never layed...) about 6 days ago and they are stressed (the wyandottes have been a bit mean, but I have just put the dominant hen into a cage as was recommended in another thread and I am hoping they will get along soon). They have been seperated for a couple of days and the barred rocks seem to be doing MUCH better- not as skiddish and generally happier. Anyone know when they will start to lay again?

When I would get new hens I never introduced them to my flock for atleast a month incase of disease.....after a month they were put side by side in a pen or cage where the old flock could see the new girls for a week or so...then I introduced them at night when it was roost time so the next morning they are to busy wanting feed and not fighting........there will always be a pecking order...

I have had hens take up to a month to get back into laying when brought into my flock....
