Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

Yes no batting or anything between, but I did sew a tiny bit extra wide seam (bigger then 1/4 inch quilting seam) and folded it over to the dark side and zig zagged over it like a false french seam only w/ zig zag instead of straight. That way there wouldn't be any or much fraying, since the crochet has holes.

That'll work.

Thank you Alethea! I feel great today! DH wanted me to rest one more day but I feel back to new so, of course, that didn't happen. lol I gave the puppies their shots instead and let them run around the property for a few hours. It was supposed to rain today but all we got was a few showers early am and the rest of the day was gorgeous.

Sunny- Don't worry about the blocks, no biggie. I have been so busy with everything here that I don't have time to assemble it right now anyway! Please do get to feeling better though. Don't worry about the "cuddle sack" not working....she will definately LOVE it and will use it as long as possible. She is so excited and thankful to you....she's like "Mom, you get to know such sweet ppl!" Of course I agree! Anyway, feel better and get plenty of rest!!



Cathy I didn't make it to the PO cause I came down with the flu Monday and I didn't want to touch anything, that was going to the baby, while I was sick. I'm doing better today but I may stay down one more day to get my strength back (DH's idea not mine, once I feel better I tend to be off and running again but I don't seem to bounce back as well as I used to these days... getting older I guess) then I'll wash the cuddle sack and mail it with the extra squares. Oh I need to try to get a pic of it first. I always forget that part. I hope your DD loves it! It's very long because I hate it when these things don't give a baby plenty of leg room to kick their toes around. My babies also were very long and skinny so that's always what I'm thinking when I make baby items. lol If it doesn't work on your new Grandbaby then you can just donate it to someone that can use it. But of course I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works for her.

Cathy! That was so sweet of your DD! It's all boxed up with the blocks and ready to go. I took a pic but it was too long to fit in the frame so I put two pics together. I really need to get a new lens for my camera so I can quit using the zoom for close up stuff.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was quiet except for all the political phone calls. Thank heaven the election is almost over. We have a change in weather coming in by the end of the week. The temps will drop, a chance of rain and snow showers to 3000 feet and night time temps down to freezing. I welcome it except the kids might be moving this weekend if escrow closes this week so it might be a bit of a mess for us and there is to be a surprise birthday party for my grandson this weekend, also. Of course the weatherman has been known to be wrong as Mother Nature makes her own plans so will just have to wait and see.

I've almost finished the snowflake afghan for my granddaughters wedding present. Will take a picture when it's finished.

I always feel sorry for the critters when it gets cold quickly.

I was out today filling feeders and washing out the waterpans and securing what I could. I have to take off the timers on my irrigation lines and make sure the insulation on the pipes is all right. It's that time of year again. I was hoping for some nice weather for a while so I could do yardwork after my family moves into their house and the dogs are gone. Oh! Well! I'll have some nice days yet I'm sure. If the weather is bad for a few days then I can do more crocheting........

The snuggle sack is SO AWESOME! I had to go back to Holli's and give it to her, she got all choked up and just held it up to her heart and then I got all teary....and then we laughed, strange ppl we are! Awwwww!!! Now you have me all misty eyed! I am sooo happy that she loved it so!

She will be in our hearts til we know for sure that she and that precious little girl are home safe and sound.

Great attitude! Yes I have a quilt to start for my youngest grand daughter. If I have to stay inside I should be able to get quite a bit done on it. I've been procrastinating on indoor stuff and it's time to get busy.
