Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

I did see something on the news this am about the rain and snow in California, but nothing about Nevada. The weather here is warmer than usual which is good because I have to bring in the hoses yet and staple plastic up. No one did it while I was away. I'm just glad I only lost two birds. One a young chick I have no idea what happened and a rooster with a bad leg that need to be put down.

Take care everyone and be safe. If you can join the Winter Swap that would be nice.

The storms out here are big. The meteorologists call them an "atmospheric river." California has most of it, but weather doesn't go by state maps. Southern Oregon and Western Nevada are also part of it.

I'm sorry abut your birds.

One thing about this forum is I'm learning about other states and conditions. I used to think California never got snow but through this forum I've learned I was wrong.

Thanks so much,

Rancher

Sorry to hear the winds were that bad up your way Sunny.  Hope things get back to normal soon.  We could sure do with some rain and snow down this way.

lol That's what I was saying a week ago. Next time I won't wish quite so hard. We actually depend on our snow pack here to get us through the summer and this storm didn't help much with that. This next one coming in tomorrow and Wednesday is supposed to bring us some snow so hopefully the pass will get a good dumping.

OMG!!!  I had no idea of the storms in your area. I am so sorry!!!  I haven't been online or had time to watch the news.  Thinking of you!  ((((HUGS)))  We've just been so busy trying to get the new business going. Today was my first Sun off from work in about 7 weeks. I'm so glad DH decided for us to close on Sun b/c I think I would have just been too tired to do it today. Hang in there!   :hugs

Thanks Kim! How's it going at the new place? Love the name you chose for your business.

Sorry about your birds.
We are right on the border of CA and NV.  Seriously I can see CA from here.  But yeah the floods in some parts of Cali right now are devastating.

So cool to see all of our squares in a finished blanket. I love it! :)

You have not signed up for the Winter swap. Are you holding out? We're at 11.

I haven't tied off the ends or starched it yet, but here is what I'm making for my step-daughter for Christmas. I'm not going to be able to participate in the winter swap, but I hope to catch you all again in the spring.

Oh, and I've been lurking on the crochet chat thread. Some of the projects I've seen on there are awesome!
