Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

My daughter and family have moved back to CA and are with me until escrow closes on their house. They have five very well behaved dogs, all large. I dog sat today while they went to the realtors and they were so good. I did another square while they slept the afternoon away.
I agree w/ Sunny....Perfect way to spend the afternoon.

Well we are getting close to the end of the sign up period. I need to get a count for who is planning on doing more than one set so I can include this info in the opening post.

Also if anyone has friends that were still thinking about signing up, but haven't done so yet, now is the time. The sign up period will close tuesday evening.

I have been working on a couple of patterns but still haven't decided which ones I like so I may just do a few of each. I will be doing 2 sets so I will go change that in the OP right now. I always get so excited about each swap right about now!

Hope you are all having a great day!

I've got my two patterns set, the 6x6 and a 6x12. I will be doing just the two patterns, but may change up the colors, depending on what other colors I come across in the swap colors. I have one of the 6x12 made, but not in the swap colors, just some extra scraps since I was just playing around trying to figure how to make it the correct size. I will post a pic of the 6x12 when I get one made up in the swap colors.

Excellent!!!! I'm doing the sunflower pattern for my 6x6 squares, but haven't decided what I'll use for pattern #2. Can't wait to see yours!

Can't wait to see that one. Your 6x6 is so pretty!

Good morning Kim! Well it's still morning here anyway. :)

Sunny, put me down for 2 sets please! Right now I've got 21 blocks total--mostly 6 inch blocks but a few each of 12s and 6x12s. I was just in the process of counting them and making sure they measure up (hahaha). Now I'm off to find baggies and make labels. I'm really excited to see what everyone creates!!! I'll take a pic of the blocks before I bag them up.

I look forward to seeing pictures of everybody's.

I have thirteen 6" squares and four 12". I hope to make two sets, but they don't count as swap squares, so I think a few more or a few less will be ok.

I gave my friend her prayer shawl this morning and she's been wearing it ever since. I told her everyone had put in a stitch, including Gracie the cat and, probably, Brandy the cat. She's happy with it and said nothing is ever complete unless it has cat hair in it.

Wow you are way ahead of the game Beth! They aren't due til the end of September but it sounds like you are already done!

Just shoot me a pm when you are ready. I'll send you my address. When you mail them send them by the most reasonable method and include return shipping (money or stamps). I will mail the other folk's squares back to you, as soon as they are all in, in the same box you shipped your's in..

I'll put you down for a second set.

For those of you that are doing a single set remember you may receive more back so don't pack that box too tightly. I will be repeating this info closer to the due date for the rest of us that won't finish til the end of September.

Awww, I'm so glad your friend likes the shawl!

After taking some time for the shawl and 12" squares, I'm making two more 6" squares for a set. I can't seem to get it right this time around, but will keep trying because I think they are interesting squares and want everyone to have one. I"m also interested in figuring out what I'm doing wrong.

My engineering degree square I reconfigured into the rectangle and took the hardest part and simplified it so it still looks cool and complicated but doesn't give me a brain bleed putting it together.
