My family now has a year under our belt with chickens and all I can say is WOW! Our thinking has certainly evolved over the year and I am certain it will continue to grow and evolve. I turn here alot for help and think you have to pick and chose the solutions that will work for you, your flock and is consistent with what you value. This is a learning process and new ideas have to be tried right along with the tried and true age old remedies. I'm certainly not an expert, but enjoy a good conversation and sharing of knowledge.

Not all of us have or are gonna have the same ways. I like swap meets you don't then don't comment you don't like auction good then don't go, but all so don't tell people about bird cooties and that you don't ever put your bird next to place where a bird came from a auction, keep some birds on a place that has just that.

I could go on and on , but no need. I know I am very opinionated known that all my life, but I also like to have a good time on these forums you Hen's take things too personally when We Boys as you call us joke and have fun get over it life is to short. Now that I have spoke my mind I will leave you too the new All about You thread.

Ok I'm sorry this all came out wrong. I mean not to be rude.

When I said the I don’t turn and run I mean "just me" Seeing that I know I don’t fit in "I" don’t just give up. It had nothing to do with any of you. Some of the first comment that were posted in here seemed a bit sexist and gave me the feeling that this was not the right place for me. The one thing that I would like to see change is there is a few people out there that after someone asks something of says something those people have to make a comment that can be very degrading. I'm sure that’s why this thread was started so I'm not going to leave but I doubt I’ll be the top poster.

Again I'm not meaning to be rude just making note that even though I may ask something dumb or post up how my day has been I really didn’t come here to get a bunch of negativity. As for thoughts. Your right I may have over spoken a bit. Many of you have had great ideas and help one another a lot but I have talked to a few of you and asked some things and the response that I’ve gotten in my message box is far from what I would call a thought. More or less a rude reply to Your dumb for asking Duh! (I’m referring to me not any of you) On the other hand there is some people that have not only helpful I would give the shirt off my back to help them back.

Now that this has been said I’m looking forward to letting it go and see with the fine Sunflower state can become. I hope you all enjoy the weather today and have a chance to get out this weekend. Thanks for your time and replies to my concerns I really hope I can learn a lot more about the lives of our 2 legged friends. If you like to know “We” did find 2 of our chickens that were attacked by a stray dog to be alive. They were hurt bad and bleeding but with quick hands and a good home set up fast it’s been almost 2 weeks and the 2 birds are alive and getting around the cage very well. They are eating plenty of food and I hope can return to the flock in another few weeks. They both have a limp on their left side and I doubt they will fly again. I’m just happy we saved them. So we only lost 10 chickens all together.

Ck, I'm glad you found two more survivors, and that they will be ok. Glad also that you are staying on the thread

Schellie69 - good luck on your new run! And totally understand the "DH Issue" with more chicks! I had to do some talking to get this new group...LOL It helps when my kids participate, he wears down quicker!

schellie69, I will be doing the same thing this weekend. I have to have a 4' tall 20' X 20' done befor monday so my Girls can get back out.
