Ditto this!!!

Now I am off to see what the folks in the state I wish I was in are doing. They also talk about POULTRY, plants, etc, etc, and all get along. There are pages of posts to individual posts here. Very active. So nice!!!!!

Well I got motivated by the wife to be prepared for tomorrow (just in case I buy more

), so here's the link to my one day, $30 coop and run build!

Nice job for one day and great use of leftover/recycled materials. Let me know how you like the chainlink. Hubby thinks we should redo our chicken yard with chainlink wrapped in poultry wire on the bottom 3'.

Good luck today at the auction.

A good portion of my pens are chainlink lined with either hardware cloth or chicken wire. The rest are 2x4 wire lined with the same. I like them both equally well.

Thanks Katy. Our current chicken yards are all 2x4 wire lined with chicken wire and I think it works fine. I am not sure it is worth the expense or time to just change over to chainlink but thought I might be missing something.

Slightly chilly here this morning, but the sun is out. Winds are quiet, but suppose to pick up slightly. Hope it is not as bad as yesterday - the clothes dried quick on the line, if they were able to stay on the line!

Dang! I wish I could find a shed like that for free! There is never anything like that for free on our Craigslist. Everyone always wants 2 or 300 at least! It looks very nice. We also use chainlink for our run.

I think the chain link is doing to work really well, we only have tiny dogs... so the 2ft height chicken wire should keep them from grabbing a neck ever! Without it though the silkies almost fit out the links... I'm sure it'd be fine with only standards!

The swap went pretty well... got rid of the extra feed I had, and found out where he'll be getting his next chicks from hopefully!

I was advised by another craigslister to try and post a "item wanted" ad asking for a free-low cost shed, it worked... I was offered a 6x8 metal shed, an 6x6 wood shed, and the 7x7 Rubbermaid shed within mere days! the collapsible one was the obvious choice to get through my gate!

Tazcat - after chatting more with my hubby, I think that is his rationale for wanting to go to chainlink - in particular he wants to invest in the dog kennel panels.

Kansasboy - glad the meet was successful for you, but the real question is did you come home with any birds???

As I've mentioned, I'm living vicariously through everyone's hatches and purchases! And once you build a coop and run, you have to fill it, right?

Thanks for passing along the craigslist suggestion. I have often wondered if the "item wanted" ads are ever responded to, but now I am willing to give it a try!
