Sunflower Chickens

Yeah it actually works well with our 170k population! The wife got a nice set of patio furniture for $25 the same way! I already have 10 chicks, although I considered getting a couple more today I've decided to wait until a get the pair of hens that I want first!

Well my 3 yr old saw my 14 yr old put the duckling in the dog's water bowl. Can you guess where this is going?

He drowned the duckling.

What makes it even worse....I saw him playing in the water....it wasn't until I walked over to him that I saw the duckling.

Nice job for one day and great use of leftover/recycled materials. Let me know how you like the chainlink. Hubby thinks we should redo our chicken yard with chainlink wrapped in poultry wire on the bottom 3'.

Good luck today at the auction.

I think the chain link is doing to work really well, we only have tiny dogs... so the 2ft height chicken wire should keep them from grabbing a neck ever! Without it though the silkies almost fit out the links... I'm sure it'd be fine with only standards!

The swap went pretty well... got rid of the extra feed I had, and found out where he'll be getting his next chicks from hopefully!

Dang! I wish I could find a shed like that for free! There is never anything like that for free on our Craigslist. Everyone always wants 2 or 300 at least! It looks very nice. We also use chainlink for our run.

I was advised by another craigslister to try and post a "item wanted" ad asking for a free-low cost shed, it worked... I was offered a 6x8 metal shed, an 6x6 wood shed, and the 7x7 Rubbermaid shed within mere days! the collapsible one was the obvious choice to get through my gate!

Well I will give it a try, I didn't figure that I would get any replies. We really need a bigger coop but I don't want to go to the hassle of building. We definitely are not handy! lol

I have gotten most recently 2, 4 pannel dog runs that are 12x 7 feet high for free just for removing them. One has some what of a roof but needs work. Either way keep your eyes open.

If you do find a large enough wooden shed that will need moved I have a friend that owns a tow company, he was only going to charge me $100 (half price) to load/move/unload the one I had found on his flatbed truck... sure he'd still give move one for me at the same rate!

Good to know. Thanks! I have had no luck yet with the ad. I'm hoping to get some replies soon!

Congrats to our fellow Kansas BYCers and our BYC friends throughout the midwest which were recognized by the BYC community! Great to have these individuals right in our own backyard!

I found a free 8x10 chicken coop on Craigslist that only needs the floor replaced!

I am going to look at it as soon as the rain stops. I hope it is in usable condition like they said it is. I am soo excited!
