Yeah!! What breeds?

SLW, BLRW, Orps. No Wheaten Marans yet, but most of their eggs have pips. Seems like those are always the last to hatch. I had company all day until about 8 so I was nicely surprised when I finally made it down to check the incubator.

Lots of pretties. How are the Marans coming?

I have cuckoo marans with great fertility both french and clean legged. I'd be happy to meet you somewhere whenever you need them! Just keep me in mind. I might also do olive eggers...haven't decided yet!

Have a great Monday!

Sandy

They're all out except one Marans and one orp. The Marans has a small pip, but I doubt that it does anything.

Thanks I think I like the french with the feathered legs. I am still waiting on a broody.

Hey! I just found this thread! I'm glad to see this one the other one was getting kinda crazy. I have one girl that is broody every few months. She has 2 chicks she is raising right now. I am hoping for 2 pullets but am not holding my breath. The barred rock chick is feathering more like a roo i think. I hope the rain is gone by tomorrow. I need to get out and finish the work in the yard that we started this weekend.

Hi! Yes, it's interesting how we really do want to talk about chickens...and want answers with more than one syllable!

I have a couple of reliable broodies like that, and tonight one of them went off the deep end again! Her first broody time was after her VERY FIRST 3 eggs. Done! Gotta hatch!

I think I've broken the 2 Chanteclers, 2 Isabel Orp F1s, the Silkie and the banty Cochin I brought home from the farm. I used the other Silkie and Chante to brood a huge bunch of eggs that hatched Easter.

I have a bunch of chicks I need to go through and figure out what to keep. It's a huge menagerie!! Spring has absolutely sprung.

Anyone have any morel finds out there? I never have gotten a good consistent place to find them and am dying for a few this year before the season is over.

hi all!
Sorry Wichita area folks for all the rain - I put a lil prayer up so that my trees would get watered and I could spend my weekend doing garden and chicken stuff for a change lol - plus... i washed my car

so - do you ever try to get the chicks back from a broody hen? i had one who adopted 6 - but then she got fussy with em - so i had to boot her out of the brooder and put them all under a lamp. now she's driving me crazy

Don't apologize for the rain....I just wish we'd have gotten more than .20". Our wheat crop is dying from lack of moisture....and I only live about an hour NW of you. I washed my car too trying to make it rain.....guess I"ll have to wash it again.

Hey Tonya I have a silky about to hatch 3 wellies for you and now have a white rock that wants to sit so I am saving her some wellie eggs. When your in the area or know someone comming your way I can send them. Course I am counting before they hatch. But the silky has been true and the white rocks do a great job. I will put nine marked eggs under the white rock.

I'd go hang some quilts out to dry, and perhaps put a cake out to cool (who EVER thought that was a good idea??). Remember the song? Someone left the cake out in the rain...

We definitely got our share last night- wish I could send it to you, Katy!
