You guys can have my rain! My main pen is a muddy mess and the girls are ankle deep. Totally hear ya about the cleaning, though; I so need to do a deep clean here sometime soon. Playing outside is so much more fun, though

Hi! Yes, it's interesting how we really do want to talk about chickens...and want answers with more than one syllable!
big_smile.png

I have a couple of reliable broodies like that, and tonight one of them went off the deep end again! Her first broody time was after her VERY FIRST 3 eggs. Done! Gotta hatch!

I think I've broken the 2 Chanteclers, 2 Isabel Orp F1s, the Silkie and the banty Cochin I brought home from the farm. I used the other Silkie and Chante to brood a huge bunch of eggs that hatched Easter.

I have a bunch of chicks I need to go through and figure out what to keep. It's a huge menagerie!! Spring has absolutely sprung.

Anyone have any morel finds out there? I never have gotten a good consistent place to find them and am dying for a few this year before the season is over.

This is the wish list I mentioned in the other thread didn't want to say I posted it here. I am trying to follow that thread but I come back and 5 pages have been added

Well, you could do some one-stop-shopping here!!

I have Marans, Silkies, Frizzled banty Cochins, EEs and Ameraucanas...my one OE is going to live elsewhere soon, but I may be putting some EEs in with the Marans fellas.

What fun! I do have a JG, but no breeders. She's just a pet in my home flock.

The only thing I've got on your list are Marans. Mine are Wheatens. I'm about 45 minutes to an hour from Salina.

Good Morning! I logged on this morning hoping to a get a chick fix from all of you that are hatching! I am living vicariously through you because I am not stepping foot near Orscheln's or TSC! And because dear hubby might just kill me at this moment if I brought home more chicks! So ladies - Katy, Tazcat and Renee - post some pics of your newest cuties!

Heya! got your message late yesterday, didn't realize the phone was on mute.

I'll take pics soon- it's funny, with the new Brinsea EcoGlow brooders, you'd never know I have chicks! They're silent and under the things all the time. I'll have to get a pic when I put the mamas out with their broods today. I have a Silkie with 3, and a Chantecler with 11. I'm moving them out to the coop this afternoon after it warms up.

LOVE the EcoGlows!!!

Sounds great do you have hatching eggs or chicks And to Katy I love the look of Wheaten Marans are their eggs that dark brown chocolate colored. I just want one or 2 hens of JG just for the eggs I really need a couple of my hens to go broody I think this year might be hatching eggs and next year try some of my own eggs. I have to be careful I am at my max for chickens but trying for the egg basket I want and stay under the radar.
