We love the company, but it's about chickens on this thread, so there will be talk of CHICKENS, feed, selling, diseases, etc. That's what this thread is for. Social club can be over there. Everyone can be happy that way.

Your kinda blowing this out of the water arnt ya. Seems your feathers are a bit ruffled that we talk about anything see thats what the thread is WHERE AM I WHERE ARE YOU meaning we can talk about anything not yard birds.
that should be more then one syllable.

Took me a long time to decide who to keep and who to sell. I've done it in two major sell offs.....one about a year ago (I think, I can't remember for sure) and then again last fall when I had my eye problems. Once they were gone it was almost a relief. I will say I'm enjoying my birds that I kept a lot again.....it had gotten to where it wasn't that much fun anymore.

Katy, what breeds of chicken do you have now? Are you just focusing on the Wheaten marans?

See prime example... Multiple threads under one united Kansas forum would solve this exact issue... (sorry that's about the site and not the birds, a little off subject)!

I don't think our feathers are ruffled at all, just rather tired of the "Good Old Boys Club" that our other thread had become. If you want to keep your conversation pertinent to chickens then you're more than welcome here....if not you guys have the other thread to share how many "Adult beverages" you've had for the day.

I've got my Wheatens, SLW, BLRW, English Orps, bantam SLWs and my call ducks and guineas. Still enough I should downsize some more, but if I do it will be in numbers of birds, not breeds.

I need some help I have a wish list a few Kansas folks with the birds I want so now to pick which breeds to get this year. I am trying really hard not to go crazy and end up with a whole lot of chickens I am only allowed so many so i am trying to keep the number down and still get the breeds I want. I know for sure I want those dark chocolate eggs. I also want some green egg layers I did get 2 EE from tractor supply so I am hoping that at least one of them lays a green egg. Any help would be appreciated.

I though this was a considerate move...I don't think everyone on the Consolidated Kansas thread was into chickens and it was difficult to get a chicken conversation going as it was broken up with many different conversations. Most of us are following and contributing to both threads. But personally, my household isn't interested in pigeons, ducks and other fowl at this time, so I don't have much to contribute - I always learn, but don't have much to contribute to those discussions.

Since sub-threads are not an option currently, this is the best way to have a more dedicated chicken conversation and respect the wishes of those that are not in to chickens, feed, etc.

Oh my gosh Katy! What an awesome barnyard and egg basket!! Do you sale your eggs or chicks? I am asking for two reasons. First, my kids are into 4H and we are often asked where people can get certain breeds. Second, I try to buy "local" and push very hard for people to buy "local", so I would rather support my fellow Kansans in my chicken habit!
