But drakes can have their penises prolapse right? I guess it depends on the roosters anatomy?
Maybe I'm using the wrong term

I don't know I'd drakes can prolapse, if by prolapse you mean can't put their penis back in. I know in dogs it can happen, but I can't say more, it would just be assuming at that point

I agree. I think that this is information that should definitely be more well known. I meant it more as a joke, and was it in bad taste? Probably. Sorry if I offended you
sorry, i grew up with a mom who was raised on a farm but didn't know where baby chicks came from for how much she was repulsed by anything to do with sexuality. (I was clearly conceived by divine intervention ;) )

She explained to my sister in front of my godmother that the rooster fertilized eggs like a fish does by spreading sperm on the eggs in the nest. My godmother burst out laughing thinking it was a joke. You can't grow up on a farm and not see a rooster mate his hens!

hiding the truth leads to vulnerable children, truth protects. (I apologize for not having understood your humour, text messages lack a lot of information, such as pauses and facial expressions)

I completely agree, I always try to spread the (valuable) information I know, it's always helpful. And yes, it's very hard to know if someone is joking or not

Yall this thread has grown so quickly, if there ever is a 3 minute silence it feels like an eternity has passed :lau
Cute GIF

In this brief silence, perhaps there is no abuse at present!
Let's enjoy cute duck gifs while we wait for more abuse!

eventually I used a Q-tip to get it to her, just on the outside and about an inch inside.
I have to remove the gleat chunks that build up on her urethra
I just don’t get why 3000 in vet bills including avian vets
All the testing. 4 antibiotics and now fungal meds and we have zero answers as to how or why
We have had elevated bacterial and now they say aspergillosis but not in the lungs
Some days I hold her in tears and pray she can get over this
She us such a sweet bird and put up with me bugging her. It hurts ti get the gleat off and not once has she ever tried to bite me
She does try to get away and quack
That’s when I feel bad that I have hurt her while trying to help her
But if I don’t get it off it builds up then blocks her

My girls and I have a question about an action our male ducks do....
When I come up the walk from parking my car, the male ducks do a deeeep neck/head plunge and swoop back up as long as their necks will let them. Very fluid! I can see about getting a video of it.
What does this mean?
We have seen the neck bobs, especially int he water, to the females. But there is this deep, super expressive plunge and swoop... usually ending with hackle feathers up ( back of the neck, all the way down)... no charging or aggression.
Any ideas?
It’s normal
They are excited to see you
I love when all 5 of my boys do it at the same time.
