Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

I loved the video. So they can get their nares into the small containers in that big container that was in their housing. Your setup is really cool. My husband has raised beds too for his garden but nothing like your setup. Much smaller because we don't have the space. My water bill for the three of us living here and the 20 ducks runs 100 dollars each month for the summer. We don't wash our cars here or waste it any other way than on the ducks and they are my pets so it's really not wasting. Your flock was beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing your setup.
We would pay around $200 if i didnt use rain water.

Long story short I was done hatching babies in beginning of June
This lady asked me for fertile eggs for her young goose who wouldn’t break broody
Gave her the eggs and 17 days later I get a text. Goose left nest no bator and eggs spread out. Could only find 4 of the 12 I gave her. Could I finish them in the bator for her
Then she talked me into that gander for Stella. But after 4-5 days I had to send him back. Stella is to young and no interest in him this made him very loud all day long
I live in a town on 1.5 acres but my one neighbour is very close
The last thing I want to do is upset my neighbours
I had asked her if it doesn’t work can he go back as I hadn’t planned on getting a gander till we move to land next spring / summer
She said yes of course
Well she wasn’t happy to pick him up and was very aggressive with him when he was a gentle bird
I cried after thinking what have I done sending him back to her
Hopefully she stopped punishing the goose for being angry at me
She also says I’m not taking the ducks
Awesome ( probably a good thing after what I witnessed )
My brother is taking these 3 to the farm one of the eggs was no good
We have action today as one is starting to zip
One has a pip and the other egg is days behind only now just internal pip
I don’t think her young goose was ti good at sitting right as the air cells were very small and I didn’t have much time to correct them
The one baby made external pip in less then 18 hours after internal
Just not a lot of air
Second baby I made safety hole at 18 hours and baby has now made his own pip beside my hole
What a challenge taking on eggs at day 17 when you have no idea of the bird did cooling or bathing ect
I know the eggs left clean and came back dirty but that could be from when she tossed them out of the nest

Good luck with these babies. Sorry Stella's friend did not work out and that the lady you got him from was so mean. She sounds like she shouldn't have any animals at all from her actions. I know males are hard to rehome but they should not be mistreated. They didn't chose their sex.

If I lived on land away from neighbour I would have kept him
He wasn’t aggressive
Did pretty good at listening in the short time
If Stella had accepted him I’m sure he would have been less loud
We have our first baby hatched

No idea who is mom
Looks a lot like my other one that my pekin / khaki cross mom hatched and dad would be blue Swedish as he is my only Swedish drake
You sound like me, I have nine hens and don't know who the Momma is at times but do know the Dad if they turn out like my one did, a black Swedish. I only have the one Call Duck that is a Black Swedish so He's the Daddy but who knows for sure who the Mommy is???lol

I don’t have any black Swedish so when I got a black one I was shocked
I saw my khaki / pekin mom lay the egg and marked it with an N so I knew when it hatched
My blue Swedish gets her often
This is mom , dad and baby
Other then that I have only seen her lay twice and marked the eggs
One was a black Swedish one a chocolate Swedish
She lays later morning so was easy
The rest of my girls lay first thing so I don’t know I have 10
Laying girls and 3 more to young yet
