My gander who is a very gentle boy. Never chased or bites me
Well he had an eye infection
So brought him in the house for 5 days
We did eye cleaning ,drops and polysporin ointment
He didn’t like that at all
I was bit many times
My arms are bruised from just above the elbow to my fingers
But I Once again sucked up the abuse and played vet , nurse , mom , and maid

Pics of his eye that day and then after 48 hours
Now it’s right back to normal
He is happy as can be back out with his wife stella

What would have happened if you would have wrapped vet wrap around his bill to keep it closed while you were working on him? I know it sounds crazy but it would remind me of a muzzle for a dog that needs something done to it like clipping nails that it doesn't like. As long as you didn't cover the nostrils would that work to keep from getting bit I wonder????

They are beautiful ducks. It is great that they can stay safe like that. Here a hawk or raccoon would have them in no time at all.

Well 2025 not so boring already
One gander has been mating my 4 younger girls
They have been getting a good amount of bald spots
One had a little scab from him biting skin now that feathers are gone
Well today I found her with a bigger wound from him mating her she must have turned her head as that would hurt and he grabbed her ear
Now she is bald on her ear too
Caused the skin to break on her head and bleed
Uggh not the start I was looking for
He isn’t mean just a little over excited to have new young ladies
I have moved her into a pen with a sister to give her time to heal
