Guys, I'm in awe... this is aplearantly what you get from a female mallard and a male magpie duck.
Isnt she beautiful!?!!!

I'm waiting for my greenhouse to get here so I can set it up as a temporary coop for the youngsters.
Last time I brought them to the duck run, my smallest little Kim (the mallard) attacked my magpie girl and broke some blood feathers... poor baby was shaking and crying for an hour while I tended to her. Have you guys ever had that sort of behaviour from your female ducks??? I think she genuinely tried to kill her, and while she does show everyone their place occasionally, she has only started behaving this way when spring came. 😔

I'll separate her as soon as I build her a "Kim jail" lol. But man, she's a terror.

I was not able to introduce my khaki to my pekin girls till he was 2 months
Even then it was supervised
Then letting him be out with a separation of chicken wire between them
After a month of this I was able to put him in with them but they still didn’t let him house with them at night for another month
Now I take my young out in a closed in pen in the yard where the big ducks come look but can’t touch
By 6-7 weeks I move them to the flock and they are fine
I’m fact now cause I have done this so much my ducks don’t even blink when I add more
My last 2 girls I got were about 2-2.5 months old and we just let them in the yard and all was fine
My daisy has come a long way about new ducks entering

Finally back home, peeps! I got to see my ducklings in person for the 1st time... they are already so big! 😭
My parents are coming in a few days so I will list them for sale after they leave. My mom has a couple of runner drakes and I think if I could sex them fairly accurately she would take a bunch of females, if I had them. I'll post pictures a little bit later when I do the animal chores. They need their brooder cleaned.
