Not sure if I'm able to further separate them, it is still a sort of small setup, maybe 5x5ft in the main area and a 2ft x 8ft walkway from the nest boxes to the main area. They do have places they can hide from each other, but ultimately they could probably be cornered, for example the ducklings could hide in the other nest box but obviously the girls could get in. I know it's not ideal but if you think it'll work for 2 weeks I'll put them in there.

My friend I am afraid to advise you on that situation. It could be fine or maybe not but I am not one to say it will be fine and then something turn out badly. I myself would not do it but my pen is large and I have lots of options I could contain my little ones in. I just know if you have too many in a small pen they can get stressed and then they will pick on each other. Good luck with whatever you decide. No one can tell for sure what a small flock of birds will do in any given situation. They are highly unpredictable.

He gave them a container of water that really wasn't all that deep but they got water logged and could not get out. He did not know they had to be fully feathered before they would have some water proofing. I felt bad for him but I told him sometimes we learn the hard way but at least we learn.

Well not only do my ducks give me a run around but now a wild mallard thinks he can come in and mate my girls
Just when I thought I had the dads narrowed down
On Jerry Springer I don’t think even you can find the ducklings dads

Very mild abuse here today, mostly good behaviour all around.
I let my girls "escape" this morning. I left the door open while I was filling their water buckets, and allowed Sprightly to sneak out of the pen. Dougie was with me drinking the fresh water but then saw Sprightly and she ran to follow her. I could hear them laughing as they headed for the allotment, they think they're so stealthy....
I find this is just a good thing to do occasionally, boosts their self esteem.

They had a lot of fun. Once done with the chores in the pen, I grabbed them some calci worms and scattered them in the grass. Very happy squeaks and some zooms too.
And yes, the lockdown has been lifted, it may be re-inforced soon, but while there are almost no cases, and none for miles and miles, I have decided to make the most of it.

I miss my ducks!!!! I am visiting my mother in England and had to leave them back in the States. All the folks in my Mum's assisted living wanted updates on my ducks, and that reminded me how much I miss them!
