Ever wonder what duckling or keets do while you are gone. Well I got bored and recorded 10 hours worth in time lapse. Could of extended it to 15 minutes, but didn't want anyone falling asleep and popcorn getting stale.

I loved it!!! They are soooooo busy!!! It was so funny too because they mostly seemed to stay together with their own kind. What type of ducklings? Thanks so much for sharing.

Khaki Campbell's. Already have 19 of them, but stroke of luck all hens. This batch has 4 drakes and 5 hens. So 24 hens with 4 drakes, I think that should be a good ratio. Looks like I have 2 ganders to 3 hens on the geese from what I heard and discovered this morning on sounds I heard.

I need to quit thinking that I will get a Hen out of a Hen that throws off mostly 99% Drakes! If I want any more Hens I think I will be dealing with Metzer's. Getting rid of my Drakes is for the birds, lol.

[New duck mommy 2021]

Last baby has hatched
Never had one this colour before
It’s blonde but not a brighter yellow
I do have a buff Swedish so wondering if she is mom
Baby was a full assist as it bruised the egg 3 days ago I made the safety hole and left it be till this morning
I never open the egg more as I don’t want to be wetting membrane
Assisting over time I learned less is better
She seems to be doing good
Moving around a little and even had a poo while I was holding her
She is day 31
Her siblings hatched day 28 and 29’
I didn’t get these eggs till day 17 and Babies looked behind for the date as well as air cells were tiny so it’s been a challenge with them
They are my ducks eggs but a lady took them for her broody goose who scattered them day 16 and she brought them to me the next day
Eggs were cold and no movement so I really didn’t have much hope
But all 3 hatched

Very sad to say baby 3 ( sunshine ) passed away last night
She was fast mouth breathing from birth and her belly was swelling a lot by that evening it was huge
I did take her to my vet that night
We started antibiotics
Her thoughts were septic
She fought so hard for 2 days but the meds didn't have the time needed to work ( only got 24 hours worth )
I’m glad she is at peace now and no longer struggling

I too am very sorry that you lost this little one. It's so hard when we lose them. She was a beautiful baby!!!

At least you were able to get her to the vet. I have noticed on these birds, by the time you get them to the vet out here 1.5 hour away it's too late or they are booked or don't have a clue. Though if you got cows or sheep you are fine. Learning what I can so I don't have to deal with vets.

Same here most of us have to be our own vets.
