Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

Merry Christmas everyone!!

today, Dougie turns 3! And since its also Christmas, the girls got a very exciting breakfast!

On top of their normal feed, we have oats, watermelon and strawberry, and mealworm sprinkles!

Needless to say they loved it, and this is what it looked like 30 seconds later...

I wanted to add an egg into the assortment, but I knew if I put an egg in the bowl then Sprightly wouldn't touch anything. (She detests the texture of egg).
So Dougie will get a cracked egg for tea. I'm sure Sprightly will help her demolish the shell at least!
Happy Birthday Dougie

Thank god for this support group! My human friends dont understand the love between me and my ducks as it is....

If i open up and share the full extent of things, they would be horrified... ie the emotional and physical abuse (vicious pecks on a daily basis from mommy ducks, including groups of 3 mommy ducks amalgamating their clutches into duck armies, scratches being yelled at all hours day or night, never a word of thanks, ever). Even being shat on!)

Im sure my family and friends would be horrified by that alone, let alone the additional fact that my feathered abusers are all unemployed and demand that i pay all the rent and food costs! They refuse to get jobs or contribute a cent! They also expect me to clean up after them night and day. They never say thanks or contribute a cent to the bills.

Am I a victim of domestic (duck) abuse?

How can I escape this cycle of abuse? 🤣 😂 😆 🦆?

This is a safe space, you’re amongst fellow victims, we know and understand your trauma. 😔🤣

I make mine pay rent. They have to feed me by laying eggs. The three little Call drakes get off without paying just for looking so darn cute. lol Right now they are on strike and not laying so I am hoping when spring comes they decide to earn their keep. My friends too have asked me before, Why Ducks??? I tell them Why Not!!! They are better friends than a lot of people I know, lol.

Unfortunately there is no escape any of us have ever found 😆

My gander who is a very gentle boy. Never chased or bites me
Well he had an eye infection
So brought him in the house for 5 days
We did eye cleaning ,drops and polysporin ointment
He didn’t like that at all
I was bit many times
My arms are bruised from just above the elbow to my fingers
But I Once again sucked up the abuse and played vet , nurse , mom , and maid
Your welcome Gary goose
Pics of his eye that day and then after 48 hours
Now it’s right back to normal
He is happy as can be back out with his wife stella
